Just a few notes...
No, Pete, I didn't mean what you said. My message was more straightforward. Jazz was insulting and I found it amusing that he would resort to genitalia references when he's a "developer for DP". To me, DP means something else that can't be explained here (:))). I was just making fun of him, because he didn't deserve more than this share of attention from me.
As I said: I never installed DP. I never tried it. I never used a website that had it installed. I only trusted Pete that we could use it, because he'd been part of the DP team at some point and he said it was a good compromise. It has been months since he decided to call it quits with them because of the BSD affair. He, however, remained suspicious of the team leaders after this. That includes you guys, Solomon and Chris. I don't know you, I barely talked to you in my life and I clearly do not have any intention of wasting my time talking with you considering how foolishly you've been acting so far (mostly Jazz really, but you seem to stick with him here. Plus... It's "good for me" that I possibly don't have a job? Nice.)
Now, regarding censorship -- I don't believe in censorship unless there are specific details which should not be made public. Insults are boring but are not among the things I consider are candidates for immediate deletion. I don't know who deleted Jazz's posts, maybe it was himself on the DP team's request, but I don't condone it.
See, there's a "Hide" button in the button strip for each post. It is the equivalent of a post deletion, meaning only the author and moderators can view the post. I would appreciate it if, anytime you feel a post should be deleted, you actually clicked the Hide button and then submitted a report for me to look into it. Then I'd decide what to do with it in a timely manner.
Thank you.

Epic fail.
- The SMF team has always been living by its 'core values'.
- They have yet to give proof that they actually made up a rule about competition links BEFORE Pete started putting a link to Wedge in his signature.
- Seriously, they never made such a rule. That's unfair behavior.
- So, everyone's entitled to put the link back into their signatures. If you're unsure, you can always copy and paste the corresponding Core Value, "Friendly Competition".
Putting a link in your signature without any other indication is not a demonstration of hate or antagonism. It's just sharing. The SMF team controls their board. They can dictate what people may have in their signatures, but they can't conflict with their core values -- especially if presented publicly with the evidence.
The day SMF starts violating its core values, can someone tell me -- what exactly are these core values worth? They're just lies. They already violated them for me last year. Will they violate them for every single one of you? Their reputation is at stake.

« on April 1st, 2011, 11:42 PM »
Quite satisfied with tonight's work... Quick, barely buggy on first try, and all in all interesting -- notably the fact that WeCSS now supports retrieving file sizes dynamically. (Maybe I should use $images instead of $images_dir and transform the URL on the fly, though... But the current solution is, err... Safer?)
rev 676
(14 files, 18kb)
+ Renamed wecss_func class to wecss_color, and implemented wecss_func class with two new functions. width(url) and height(url) will return the dimensions of any image. Make sure to use the _dir variable variations for best results. ($images_dir instead of $images, etc.) (Class-CSS.php, Subs-Cache.php)
+ Added $language_dir, $images_dir and $theme_dir variables, for the above. Also fixed $language to actually work.
+ Added westr::safe(), which is just like westr::htmlspecialchars() but slightly faster (and simpler.)
* Turned language-specific new.gif into a base64 icon. YES. (Profile-Modify.php, SSI.php, BoardIndex.template.php, MessageIndex.template.php, PersonalMessage.template.php, Post.template.php, Recent.template.php, sections.css)
! $user_info['url'] (used in the language switcher) didn't have the proper current URL if inside a board. Hopefully this weird fix won't cause trouble. (Load.php)
! Don't need to recalculate $css_vars['$here'] on every file addition... Only the last one is needed. (Subs-Cache.php)
- Don't bother with IE6 emulation of windowbg backgrounds, because it doesn't seem to work on tr tags, and my patience is limited. (ie6.css)

Err... Isn't it Twitter that does that?
And is it actually a 'format'? I thought it was just Twitter's way of handling the thing, maybe they just didn't like having just /#/ in the URL (which would work fine AFAIK)...

Off-topic / Re: At cross ends...
« on April 1st, 2011, 10:38 PM »Yes, Nao, I'll admit I been a bit..difficult lol - attribute some of that to the growing irritation over the themeing community/environment/development in SMF. Its been a downward spiral, as so many other things in SMF, and I guess I tended to overreact sometimes. (prob. won't be the last time either,
Ok, private it is then. I know this board is readable by public, that was the plan. And if someone thinks its a aprils joke, it most certainly is NOT.

I'm guessing they started reading this topic and screaming in their private area.... ::)
And still no official explanation, eh?
Guys! Don't start making up rules and implying they've always existed! If you can't fight, then just keep quiet instead of making fools out of yourselves by doing lame actions that only hurt your reputation. These people you're blaming, are the very ones who care about the SMF codebase's future! If you can't keep your software alive, don't start blaming others for your own shortcomings!
Next step, then...?
@JBlaze> It's not competition if IT ISN'T AVAILABLE, for God's sake!
It's a site running SMF, and discussing SMF-based software. Their links don't even say it's a forum software! It just says Wedge!
What they're trying to do is stupid. They're only saving time.
It wouldn't surprise me, at this point, that they never release Gold at this point. Just to make sure Wedge doesn't get in the way....... ::)
