rev 741 (useless rename commit.)
(38 files -3, 37kb)
* Renamed Javascript to JavaScript, for case nazis. I'm not one, but... Oh right, maybe I am. (Class-JSMin.php, Load.php, ManageMembers.php, ManageRegistration.php, Aeva-Embed.php, Spellcheck.php, Subs-Cache.php, Subs.php, Subscriptions-PayPal.php, aeva/readme.txt, TEMPLATES: Display, index, ManageBoards, ManagePaid, ManagePermissions, MessageIndex, Post, Profile, LANGUAGES: Help, ManageMedia, ManageScheduledTasks, ManageSettings, Media, PersonalMessage)
* Renamed use_lightbox to use_zoom, and other lightbox variables to zoom or zoomedia. I think most people are unfamiliar with what a lightbox is -- and zoomedia is more self-descript. (db_aeva.php, Aeva-Gallery.php, Aeva-Gallery2.php, Aeva-Subs-Vital.php, ManageMedia.php, Subs-Media.php, ManageMedia.english.php, ManageMedia.french.php, Media.english.php, Media.french.php, ManageMedia.template.php, Media.template.php)
- Removed Highslide JavaScript files and outlines folder. The hs folder will wait until I'm finished converting. (aeva/highslide*.js, aeva/hs/outlines)
Note: if you have use_zoom problems when reloading, that's because you have to go to Admin > Media > Settings > Appearance, and enable (or disable) Zoomedia. The variable is supposedly always set in the DB so I won't bother to add empty() tests.

If Pete won't bother either, then I doubt FB compatibility will be in our feature, at least in its first implementation ;)
dorje, "respect" is basically karma... Right? Then why not use karma at all? I think that 'like' is better off used as a positive feature like (as I recently said) offering access to popular posts (either from someone or everyone), seeing a list of all posts someone liked or disliked, etc. Rather than a feature where people leave a forum because they're upset with having negative karma...
As for the API, I doubt they'll change it much for now. But never say never...

(5 files, 9kb)
* multiple attribute is valueless. (Admin.template.php, ManageMedia.template.php, Media.template.php)
* checked attribute is valueless. This was fixed long ago, but the latest SMF sync brought in a couple more. (ManageBans.template.php)
* <a name> is deprecated in favor of <a id>. Forgot to fix that when importing AeMe. (Media.template.php)
* Commenazi. (Class-CSS.php)

Well, it's one of the rare features that we definitely want in the first alpha but still haven't started to work on... Personally, it's because I'd like for the feature to be compatible with Facebook Like from day one, but OTOH I can't bother to dive into the Facebook API for now -- and I don't want the feature to ONLY be about Facebook, i.e. if you don't have (or want to have/use) a Facebook account linked to your forum account, you can still use the feature. I have a Facebook account but I certainly don't want my friends to be flooded with fascinating wall posts like 'René-Gilles Deberdt likes garlic sausage' whenever I click Like in a garlic sausage topic.
You know... Things like that.
Also, the idea for the like feature is to have a common internal structure (i.e. same table for everything) that allows to show your appreciation for a topic, a post, a blog post, a media item, and so on, just the same.

There will be a lot of differences.. But it's probably wiser to take your time to learn about Wedge's structure first.

I'm afraid this has been going for a long time now... (Around 2009.) Just with different actors at the beginning.

What would you expect from them? They're the same guys who killed SMF with their vanity... They'll always blame others.

Oh... Sorry... Ever since I started working on Wedge, I pretty much forgot everything about AeMe. Didn't have enough room in my brain for both ;)

« on April 26th, 2011, 04:05 PM »Sorry. I'm not very creative when it comes to screen names, and I've been "Pete" for almost 34 years now, so I'm kind of attached to it. :P
Well, Pete1, you know what to do! Change your first name :P
