I have to admit I didn't notice the post had been updated,
The point is precisely for me to test new logos without having anyone comment on them, or at least not within the next hour or so, leaving me enough time to remove those test logos I didn't like... :P (And yeah, I uploaded over there quite a good number of logos which I removed later.)

though I'm actually liking all the font combinations - they all work, with the one exception of the brown/blue colour pairing with the brown/green logo, that doesn't work so well, but all the fonts themselves do!
Yup, the blue text one sucks, I only really like ca153.png in the list. And the small versions -- it's where it shines, I'd say. I think that particular font is better at small sizes than the Segoe UI I'm using in the current logo. However, the 'g' is a bit too busy for my taste. I tried using another font just for that particular letter (!) but didn't find anything convincing...
For what it's worth, my neighbor, who I discuss my logos with from time to time, likes petal3.png best. She hasn't seen the new font though. I'm still a bit torn between the two logos really. simply-green.png has my preference when it comes to color complementing themselves, but unfortunately I failed to saved that particular file so I'd have to rebuild it from a close color. Also, simply-green would need a subtle drop shadow at that size, but whenever I add one, even very transparent, it tends to ruin the other colors. Uh.

Not that it matters MUCH... :^^;:

I still think you'll have it... Just look at the plugin discussions. I'm in pretty much none of them, because it's way out of my league. Or I just simply fear having to deal with it later... Perhaps I started Wedge because I didn't want to have to bother with making mods any longer...

Oh well...

I'm still stuck with AeMe too, BTW. I've reached a point where I'm starting to think it should stay the way it is, and I'll (or you'll) merge the attachment and avatar systems into AeMe once we reach 1.1 or something, or possibly earlier but not before the demo... It's not that I don't want to do it, but either way we'll have to build a converter for attachments and avatars, so we might as well build it into Wedge itself rather than rely on Thorsten's converter for that... I just don't know.

Super lame, thus pretty cool ;)

As for anime -- it's hard to recommend anything when (1) 95% of what was produced in the 2000's is horribly formulaic and anything that was done before will probably show its age, (2) I have no idea what you're looking for in TV shows or movies -- story, characters, originality, good music (if yes, which genre? For jazz fans look at Cowboy Bebop or Blue Submarine 6, for classical music fans look at Saint Seiya, for tribal rock look at Dagger of Kamui, and I could go on for hours), design (and if yes, which type? European, Japanese, Disney?), animation quality (some people don't bother, some care about it), etc... Or maybe you need all of the above to enjoy something :P

Yeah, and the badges too...

Although I haven't yet settled on the 'final' logo, hence my reluctance to update everything complicated like the badges or launching an icon editor to make the favicon :P

(Look at page 49, in the usual post... I added a few alternative font tests a few days ago. Didn't mention it because it looked better in the editor than resized in the browser I suppose :P)

How shall I put it... I've given a look at the first episode. Uh.
If I want to watch a show where the music was composed by the creator/writer, I'll watch Kaamelott. Plus, the man is also the director, main actor and generally a nice guy.
If I want to watch a surrealistic high-school show with a fantastic soundtrack, I'll watch Revolutionary Girl Utena.
If I want to watch a Japanese production with a soundtrack of timeless classic proportions, and that's about a purgatory world where you have to help your friends 'cross over', I'll watch the Haibane Renmei anime show. If I just want a purgatory story stuck in reality with a nice OST, I'll go for the 'Afterlife' (Beautiful Life) live action movie.

What I mean is, I'm not really sure what's in it for me with Angel Beats. It looks like a basic high-school show for zettai-ryôiki otakus. The guy wrote Kanon -- I've heard so many people say it's a fantastic show, but it doesn't cut it for me because the character-design is so awfully lolicon with wide eyes that make me wanna puke.

Alright, I didn't put it properly but I'm all ears :P

Great anime soundtracks for me: Saint Seiya, Kaze no tairiku (Weathering continent), Kamui no ken (Dagger of Kamui), Arete Hime (Princess Arete), Ie Naki Ko (Nobody's Boy Rémi), The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Berserk, Kaiba... This one being probably the most recent show that drew me to it. It was like 5 years ago... I haven't since seen a show that grabbed my interest, soundtrack-wise. Apart maybe from the psychedelic 30-minute version of the opening to Eden of the East, but it was written by Noel Gallagher... Hardly a typical anime song... ;)

Oh my, I so want to discover new interesting Japanese soundtracks!

Features / Re: New revs
« on October 25th, 2011, 09:54 PM »
Can't believe I didn't commit anything for 4 days...

rev 1133
(4 files, 7kb)

* Wedge will now only show the meta charset on topic pages. The idea behind this is that the UTF8 format is already specified through the headers, and the only reason we'd want to have the charset specified in the HTML is if the page is going to be saved for offline browsing. It's unlikely to happen for anything that's not a topic page... (index.template.php)

* Search icon was off by a pixel. (Warm/index.css, Wuthering/index.css)

! Fixed on_timeformat() and on_date() to work on English strings (the new time format broke it). on_date() is currently not used in Wedge, so I might remove it in the future. (Subs.php)

What's the difference with mpl? Less restrictive I suspect?

I wouldn't get rid of the permissions page but we could add internal links. Just make an icon that suggests 'internal admin alias' and add links anywhere it makes sense. Including in the plugin list when a plugin is enabled. It should have aliases to any page it modifies or hooks into.

My current playlist, in order:

Conan the Barbarian OST
Darwinia OST
Jean Michel Jarre Rarities
Jochen Hippel compilation
Shatter OST
Attack Number 1 OST (an old '69 Japanese show...)
Mike Oldfield Incantations Remastered
Kourosh Yaghmaei - Arayeshe Khorshid
Daft Punk vs Basic Slack
Daft Punk - Tron Legacy OST
Alcest - a couple of albums (post-metal)
Nik Bartsch's Ronin - Holon (post-jazz?)
Mike Oldfield - The Space Movie OST
Kourosh Yaghmaei - Back from the brink (3 LPs)
Agalloch - The Mantle (post-metal)
X-Men: First Class OST
Mutyumu - 2 albums (post-metal or post-pop, not sure, pretty good stuff)
Radiant Historia - Piano Arrange OST
Jets'n'Guns OST
DRC Music - Kinshasa one two (Damon Albarn + Congo artists)
Weather Report - Sweetnighter
Urusei Yatsura - OST Lum's Best Selection 2
Kino no tabi - Image Album OST
Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt 2 OST
Bandyta OST

Some of these things are well known... Others are quite obscure. I just love looking like I'm a specialist :P But I'm just basically a sucker for OSTs. Today's discovery is Bandyta (the playlist is sorted by date added), and it's very much like Goran Bregovic stuff -- a keeper!

The Dalek episode works well to introduce daleks to Who newbies, which I was part of, obviously. (I have yet to see a *complete* episode of the original show. First 1963 episode was too boring, and City of Death started too campy for my taste...)
Remember, their appearance is quite laughable for a new viewer. "Them, SCARY...?!"
So it worked really, really well to see the Doctor, who up until now was very sure of himself, completely lose it in front of a pepperpot.

Cybermen are less prominent after season 2.

I loved the Dalek episode in series one. But all subsequent Dalek appearances sucked.

Maybe bind doesn't have the facility.

As for mousedown I'd trap all clicks in case user can select a text and then press ctrl+c but it's not important and could lead to other problems. So your code is the best for the job ;)
