Bug reports / Re: Posting pictures on posts generates 8 errors
« on May 13th, 2015, 03:57 PM »
I don't know. It used to happen on wedge.org, so if it's not happening anymore, there's two possibilities:
- You didn't update all your files correctly, or,
- It only happens in some circumstances, such as uploading a specific file type. I tried with images.
Can you try with images, and then something else?

Okay, maybe not BILLIONS of embeds, since it's only for websites that do some tinkering with their API before reposting links, but you know what I mean. They could just as easily have redirected the old v2 URLs to the v3 equivalents, it's so sloppy on their part...

- Fixed Aeva embeds to use the new YouTube API. (Subs-Aeva-Sites.php)
- Out of all these thousands of stupid video sites, I never thought YouTube would willingly break the billions of embeds that point to their site!

The Pub / Re: Google - Mobile Friendly...
« on May 5th, 2015, 12:25 PM »
Wedge was built as a mobile-friendly forum system from the get-go, because that's mostly how I access my forums, so, well... I guess it made sense to do it, didn't it?
Only, I'm not too happy with Google's changes, because it's forced some websites I regularly visit to cook up a quick and dirty mobile version, some of which can't be gotten out of (even with the "desktop mode" option disabled, meaning it's doing browser sniffing, tsk!), and I really preferred their desktop versions. I just want to say, screw this!
Not a big fan of Elk's mobile themes, either, but that problem has been there for years. Mostly their persistent icons are not very intuitive. If they could replace them with a hamburger menu, like Wedge does, that'd be better. What? They're competitors? Who cares... SMF wins anyway. More exactly, conservatism wins. -_-

Not seeing the error pop up on my local site... :-/
Tried with regular upload, mass upload, and the usual culprit -- in-post upload.

Off-topic / Re: Windows
« on April 4th, 2015, 08:10 PM »
For those curious -- I finally got it... The problem was with the (inaccessible) System Volume Information folder. It holds restore points, and can be viewed with several utilities. It's automatically emptied if more space is needed on the HD, but it's really loose on that aspect -- I mean, at one point I only had 1 GB free, and it did nothing for me...
It finally emptied itself (had over 6 GB of data), and that's nice. I can also set it up through control panel -> system -> system protection.
