Funny you should link to that as I was just rereading that topic before making my next point which happens to be: If these are going to be kept as core feature a better method of disabling them should be available opposed to just permissions since these will still be visible to admin.

I feel that if a plugin is going to be bundled it may as well be a core feature since it's shipped with the software anyway (this was my stance against SD's Frontpage being bundled). I think PM's are too widely used to be offered as a plugin, just seems to me that most would expect that to be a core feature. Memlist I can be convinced either way, I doubt too many bother to disable it or remove permission to view it. JMO

I don't use it nor do my users AFAIK.
Plugin territory sounds about right (if there are requests for it). As stated before most if not all browsers have a spell checker anyway which I would think most people use over the forum's checker.

Worked just fine, my name was removed as the owner and now it shows no owner.

The Pub / Re: Replacing the recycle bin
« on October 7th, 2011, 07:35 PM ».....The soft-deletion is basically a nice feature, but if you have a forum where lots of posts and/or threads are deleted, seeing all these deleted items can quickly turn into a annoying feature (at least, if you are admin or moderator and have no choice other than seeing them).
These deleted posts in a topic view can become as annoying (and disrupting) as topic-embedded ads.

Features / Aeva - Forum owned albums
« on October 7th, 2011, 07:05 PM »
So I've followed the topics/posts regarding Aeva integration and I've been wondering will there be a means to create albums owned by the forum? Something I've always wanted to do was to create a sort of inventory and give the proper permissions for who can read/write to the album... the only thing is I don't want to own the album I'd much rather it belong to the forum.
As far as attachments I was thinking I would want that album owned by the forum as well and users could still create their own albums as permitted for whatever else.[1]

Features / Re: The calendar
« on October 6th, 2011, 02:56 PM »
As much as I make use of the calendar I wouldn't be bothered either way. Having it in the core just means it's already right there in the software, as a plugin just means a few extra clicks to get my hands on it... as long as it works I'm happy :)

Features / Re: Notify Admin when a new member joins
« on September 30th, 2011, 11:32 PM »
Completely understand. I hadn't actually given a whole lot of thought to what the alternative should be. I just happened to check my email and got annoyed with all the new member has joined..... so first thought was if this is a user preference for admin then at least I wont get them anymore. As far as an admin just specifying who should receive them sounds like a better idea anyway.
