I can't change the name. A friend just suggested i manually edit the mft. I'll see if that works.

I have not. I didn't realize there were different versions.

I think I may have created an alternate universe where a reference to one point in virtual space folds directly back onto another point in virtual space. At least... attempting to reference that directory is causing windows to think I'm referring to the parent directory, so even a recursive rmdir /S CMS from a higher directory is causing it to give a "not empty" error.

How does this happen?

WTF

Better... how do I fix it. I can't even see it through explorer, nor can I delete the parent directory. I can't delete it or the parent directory or rename the folder through CMD.

Not so obvious. I did that and it worked.
Thanks.

Awesome. If and when I get into PHP and JavaScript I'll try to make some contributions. I think adding additional pages is a direction I'll need to go in the future. On their current website they have quite a bit of information throughout several pages on their site and I'd like to get them on a single platform that has a consistent look and feel.

And, if you are looking at a custom Wedge app down the road, I'll jump on that team ;) I'm learning Java now, so I will be mastering that before I pick up any other languages.

Thanks again.

I was messing around with my test installation and after modifying the "General Discussion" board type to "Blog" i tried to go back to the home page as admin and received the error message

Database Error: Got error 22 from storage engine
File: %WWWDir%\gz\app\Subs-BoardIndex.php
Line: 69

I then tried to access the "General Discussion" blog from as a user and the error log turned up

Database Error: Incorrect key file for table '.\wedge\wedge_log_boards.MYI'; try to repair it
File: %WWWDir%\gz\app\MessageIndex.php
Line: 119

I used the "Back" link under the message and clicked the board again and got this message:

Database Error: Duplicate entry '4-1' for key 'PRIMARY'
File: %WWWDir%\gz\app\MessageIndex.php
Line: 119

It's pretty close to what we need. I think a theme with a public "front end" that offers the ability to add generic pages would be perfect. My vision is the ability to add additional pages with modules for news and announcements, blogs, or just general writing/coding space that maintain the header, the theme and the link bar, etc. Ideally it would allow any number of pages to be created with the option to nest links in dropdowns for pages like "about us", "news", "contact", etc. I don't know if it's even possible to add pages dynamically like that.

I know what you mean about charging a charity. I am looking at a database project in either Java or the Oracle front end with them that I won't get paid for. If i knew php i would jump in and do it. For now I'll try to ghetto rig something using a link to wedge from the home page and vice versa. The layouts will be WILDLY different, but it will work ;-)

Should I submit this to "Features" as an idea?

P.s. I spelled the website wrong. http://www.mutualground.org/

Got it. I'll play around with it. I can program java, but won't help much with this. The change would be in a few months. I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks again. :-)

Greetings all,
Congratulations to @Nao on the deployment of wedge.

How does wedge lend itself to content management? I am volunteering at a domestic violence shelter www.mutualgroudnd.org and they are looking for a more dynamic web experience that still facilitates the information for the public while providing forums and news feeds for employees and volunteers. Would wedge be able to provide that? The website has all the information that needs to be public.

I cosidered Joomla, but iam a routing switching guy by trade, and i hear Joomla is so complex that it would be difficult to pass the torch to a non-technical person for management.

Thanks!

Also, telling someone who is considered to be depressed to just snap out of it is actually making it worse, along with all the comments about how I should essentially just man up.
Truth to that.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best.

I hope this whole conversation helped relieve a lot of pent up anger or frustration for @Nao and @Arantor so they can both go on there way with a lighter mood ;)

Nao give Pete access to whatever private boards you guys use to discuss things (I'm assuming such a thing existed), hash it out there and if you both feel like it, just let us know the outcome.
I disagree. When they started this project they also started a community, and I think they probably realized that. If not immediately, than soon after. They have been here for the community through countless hours of coding, so now the community is attempting to support them.

Again. I'm just a guy who checks in every now and then to see how Wedge is coming along, but I also deal with conflict professionally. All of the support is great. They are both doing a great job of expressing their frustrations with each other. And it seem there has been a small amount of acknowledgement of certain issues, especially from the community. I especially like @Oracle 's last post and his acknowledgement of personality tendencies such as @Nao 's perfectionism and @Arantor 's pioneering, one's need to lead and one
s attention to detail.

Obviously these feelings have been brewing under the surface for a while, and have just come to a rolling boil. It's kind of like microwaving distilled water and throwing a fork in it. You're both great people!

Now, a big question to answer is what each person want, needs, and how they want this played out. I think it's a great idea to write down a list of requirements or agreements if you are going to move forward. Itemize line by line with specific details what needs to happen. Yor relationship isn't dictated by a list of agreements, but it can serve as a reference point.

If you walk away from it, you'll just be the guy who walked away from an almost finished product, and he will be the guy who was too perfectionist to put out something that was good enough. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
I just read through some of the thoughts over the last few days leading up to this and realized that you want to go ahead with the release. I realized some other things too and generally retract most of what I said aside from needing to honor your feelings. Maybe you guys should talk to a mediator. I know it's not the "I can handle this situation myself" approach to doing things, but it does work. (I should know... I'm a mediator... And no, I wasn't applying my mediation skills to this conflict, hence my apparent ignorance)

Personally, I don't care if you put out the software. I will congratulate you if you do, but if you don't I will just use SMF, or some crafty implementation Joomla.

My suggestion is more about ending the relationship in all but the most necessary situations and start working on the things that web developers present to you regarding your portion of the project. If you have to, put all new modules/features/etc on hold until you have lost the sense that all of your effort and energy has been a massive waste of energy. Of course you would feel that way until your work has come to fruition. Well... let it come to fruition... apples that hang on the tree too long will rot in time... I think your apples are starting to rot. Maybe you can salvage them for apple cider or something.

If you walk away from it, you'll just be the guy who walked away from an almost finished product, and he will be the guy who was too perfectionist to put out something that was good enough. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

Essentially, I say honor your feelings and accommodate them accordingly. I can't imagine you would feel much better not achieving what you set out to because your partner didn't accommodate your feelings. Some people don't care, it's not a reflection of your worth on the project. Some people care but don't know what to do about it. Maybe things will change with time.

I have no presence on this forum, aside from one or two posts, and I honestly did not read the entirety of either of your posts, but I think you are working too closely together and working on your relationship more than the forum. In my opinion, I think you should release Wedge and start working with people who contribute recommendations, requests, and bug fixes instead of beating your heads against each other like you have for the past year.
