I am truly amazed at how many people seem unable to grasp the very simple concept of 'it will be done when it's done'.Quote from Inter on July 16th, 2012, 04:35 PM This year will be a public version?
Having worked on application project teams (not as a coder - not since OS370 Assembler) I am in awe of the work you have put in.
I, for one, can wait for 'when it's done'. The alternative is to pay you to do it and I don't got the cash ;)

Actually, I offered 100 dollars and they refused it.Quote from Zootalaws on September 29th, 2012, 12:34 PM The alternative is to pay you to do it and I don't got the cash ;)
Plus 100 dollars only pays like an hour, two hours of development max :-P
Thank you,

A 100 bucks is a 100 bucks, regardless of timekeeping. 100 bucks can buy plenty of beers. ;)
But it's a moot point since I know now that they do not accept money for the project.

Consider what would happen if we did accept money for the project.
For every person that provided money, there would be an increased implication of owing something. If you give money, you expect something in return, it stops being anything other than a contract of sorts.
There are already enough people who are demanding and expecting things, accepting money would make that worse, and in all honesty I don't see how it would accelerate anything.

I dunno I would toss in 20 or so just because I like the site and learn a lot here.
Heck I've donated to other open source projects for less reasons. Most of them I never even expected to use I just liked the direction they were going.

Just don't reduce everyone to the smaller group of whiners, really most people are nice, probably even nicer than the 'free' crowd, because if they give you money, sometimes it's not only for the software, or the service, but because they just plain like you :)

Although I don't actually remember siliconsara offering me $100 for anything...?!
I admit I wanted to give the money my users donated to wedge to see if things would go faster. While I am a sad example I am also realizing why Aranator said no. I don't want anyone to feel obligated if it means sacrificing their feelings for a project. I love wedge and wish I could help in any way I can.
Question from the back, who's Aranator? ;)
The great news is: you can help. Read the discussions, particularly about features and have your say :)
Anyway, some things I want to say feels like I'm in a room full of professionals and I'm the wee advanced beginner in the back. It sounds like a trivial personal problem but that's how I feel.
If in doubt, say it. What annoys me is not people who have ideas or who don't know what they're talking about, what annoys me is the feeling of having to explain myself multiple times for the feeling of not being listened to. (Yup, that is certainly one of my failings. I don't mind people doing something different to what I recommend but I will damn well be heard in so doing!)
The only silly ideas are the ones people don't apply a little bit of thought to before voicing.Quote It is not trivial nor is it a problem that you're alone in facing. I've been trying to learn Unity 3D lately, and despite having spent hours banging my head off a wall, I haven't yet been able to face starting a topic to ask a simple question for exactly that same reason. You're not alone.

Thank you for your input. :thanks: I will try my best to have a more populated voice in the forums. :)
