Add Plugins
« on May 9th, 2014, 10:48 PM »
Trying to upload a plugin file in .zip format from my computer to my forum.Subject:Plugin contact_page (from Wedge/Plugins download as a zip file) compress plugin contact_page to zip format.

Upload went well, but there is no sign or noticeable progress in extracting this file.

I doubt if it's the correct way to install plugins,is there anyone out there whois willing to help me out with this.

Unpack the plugin and copy the folder containing the plugin-info.xml into the wedge/plugins folder.
Didnt knew that theres a possibility to upload the plugin via acp oO

<wedgefolder>/plugins/<pluginfolder>/plugin-info.xml

Although I'm more comfortable with the plugin code now than I was six months ago, I'm still not in a position to be able to bring my 2 cents on this kind of topic... Quite honestly, I didn't write the code, and I never planned to play with it either.

Hopefully someone else will step up and take care of the plugin system... If it needs any care, of course!

It took a lot of patience but i finally managed to get this works.
  • First i had to create separate folders on my WebControlPanel set permission to 755

  • Uploaded the Plugins files to the new Plugins folders (using FTP client)

  • Activate and select permissions,......and it works

Did you try pressing continue on the screen you had above?

Or he gave his login details away?

If you're correct Wedge has a security issue that needs fixing :o

That's sarcasm. I didn't go as far as looking into his IP address. And, he did write the plugin system, so it'd make sense he'd want to make sure it works.

However, I'm just saying. Why would Arantor log into wedge.org *and start doing support* over 6 months after leaving to rot?

We're talking about the man who took his Wedge features to SMF, and has always said since then that Wedge was an inferior product and that he was ashamed of working on it...

And yet Wedge feels so much better to me than SMF ever did - and I really tried to like SMF several times.

Well, some of the features (I'd say "most" but I never looked much into his commits) were only partial implementations, so the SM guys are probably not in a position to push them to the front. Arantor's quality is in his tenacity. He'll never give up on something before it's finished.

Yes, that's sarcasm again.
