This seems very simple, but the implementation was more complicated than expected, especially in terms of performance. Basically, we thought the "previous/next" topic links in topic pages were misleading. People could be led into believing that these were shortcuts to the next page in a topic.
We 'fixed' it by directly showing the names of the topics involved. As simple as that... But again -- it's nice enough to be considered a new feature. Also, we now offer proper 'previous' and 'next' links in the page links area. (These lead to the next and previous page in the topic, obviously.)

In other words, one of the few nice features in WordPress ended up in Wedge!

Yeah, we did after we spent time figuring out the performance kinks in it. It is, truth be told, especially good for blog boards but it's actually useful even in forum boards (far more so than the prev/next links SMF comes with)

Thanks for this change :D Before it was really irritating as it looked really like you could go to the next page of the topic.

So is the editor going to be different from *** so that formating isn't removed when spellchecking or previewing?

The topic in part is posts no? So my question was regarding that which allows posting. The editor.

This is a nice feature cleanup, although I never used the Previous/Next Topic links. I do, however, intend to use the Previous/Next Page link, much more intuitive.
