Hmm... In French we have 'plus simple' and 'plus simplement'. They really don't mean the same thing. "It's simpler to do this (c'est plus simple de faire ça)", and "He did it in a simpler way (il l'a fait plus simplement)" or "Simply put, you suck at English (plus simplement, t'es nul en anglais)".

Since we often have the same spelling and pronunciation of words for different parts of speech (more can be used as an adjective, an adverb, or (rarely) as a noun), we don't much care about the difference between adjectives and adverbs.
So it is common to see "She spoke quickly, but he spoke quicker than she did", even though it is grammatically incorrect.

I was guessing American anyway, but I figured I'd clarify. US and UK English are very interestingly at odds with one another a lot of the time.

You forget, though, I'm firmly British and I regularly talk to Americans - and do find myself dealing with the accent barrier and more generally the language barrier. It's not a high barrier but it is a barrier nonetheless.[1]
But for true accent win, get a Brit, an American and a Canadian on the same conference call. ;)

I must be even weirder, with my constant mix between US and UK expressions. That's what happens when you learn English mostly from TV shows and the Internet. You tend to hear a bit of both ;)

Okay, I'm currently looking into doing a mass replace from 'smf_' to 'we_' in the codebase...
There are about 700 occurrences, I'm checking them manually and then I'll do the replacement.
So far so good, but apparently sessions are named smf_sess_*. Do you think it's still okay to replace them? I mean, at the worst it'll reset the session, right...?
Oh, and I know it means we can take even less code verbatim from other versions of SMF... But do we really need to?
