Sorry about all the posts, just little things I'm seeing, not sure if it has already been reported.

I've posted a good few posts but every now and then I'll post a new topic or post and submit it grand then when I go back to the home page of wedge the board will show as if there's an unread post and then if I go into the board my new post or topic is showing up as unread.

My understanding is that any of my own posts or topics shouldn't show up to myself as new or unread.

It's a bit hard to replicate as it seems random and I don't want to spam the site with useless posts to replicate it and get a screen grab for you.

I can only see that with quick-edited posts, myself. If I don't quick edit a post, it'll always show as read. And recently, I haven't seen the bug occur to me.

Are you using the default setting, or specifically asking Wedge to redirect you to the board index, once you've posted somewhere..? I mean, I never tested that one much... I think... Yeah...

Ah so its been seen before :)

I'm just using the default settings when posting, nothing special, I'll keep an eye out for it and let you know if I see anything odd.

At one point, I thought it depended on what board you'd post to, but in the end it didn't seem to have an influence either...
Really, the only way to reproduce for me, is to post a message, then immediately quick edit it, submit, and go back to the homepage. Then there's a chance that I'll get a 'new' icon on that topic, although not systematically.

i was the last one to reply to that thread and yet it was marked as unread to me, and i do return to the thread after posting.

Return to topics after posting by default. is checked

no other messages were unread but that one that i last replied to

There are certainly issues with respect to it being marked read upon editing.

As far as being marked read just after you posted it, I would wonder if there isn't some kind of blocking on the log_topics table.

I don't think we have the activity required to justify locking issues, on this database...?

I dunno. MyISAM is full table locking. Given that it's not consistently occurring, means it's not permanently broken. So the code must be working some of the time. Both kinds of posting go through the same end code, so it's not that either.

Only thing I can think of is that it is down to locking at this stage. Try converting it on its own to InnoDB and see what happens.

Another anomaly. :)

I just came to wedge.org  a minute ago and there were no unread topics/post, when I scrolled down to the boards, the image to the left of the 'The Pub' board was highlights as there was an unread post, I clicked on it and there were no posts unread. I went back to the home page, scrolled down and refreshed the page and the icon change to the correct image where there are no unread posts.

A much better example which seems to be staying and not disappearing on a page refresh.

I posted a reply to this topic(http://wedge.org/pub/bugs/8076/thoughts-bug/msg288244/#new) and then went in and modified it straight away to change a spelling mistake and saved it. Once I came out to the Wedge homepage my reply is marked as 'New' even though it's mine. It seems to be staying even with a page refresh so I'm not going to click into it so it can stay as it is so it can be investigated.
