I agree. I normally donate to a good cause, something that I appreciate or enjoy and expect no special treatment in return. The problem is that many that donate have the idea that they are owed something for their generosity. They fail to conceive the true meaning of the word "donation".
One should not expect to be singled out for special treatment simply because of offering a donation. That would more or less be considered payment for services, not a donation.
true!!!! but its not users fault ... if they pay a certain amount of money to have extra privileges ,then they deserve to have them and its logical to claim them if they dont ...
the problem is with developers ... they dont have the balls to call it a paid service , so they cover it under the word donation... ;)
i am not against some extra "attention" , group or services to donators ... i am against the cover up!
donation is the same shit if you give 1$ or 100$ ...if you must give x$ then its a paid service.... :hmm:
i have the impression that wedge would be something different ....
It's just that I have been a follower of SMF for over 4 years now and I have always thought it could be better. Now that you and Arantor are making it better, I thought why can't both scripts be better. I'm not saying Wedge could be better (because of course I don't know) but it could be superior script if different people and ideas went into it (doesn't necessarily have to be the SMF team).
and better of cause !!! :)
if you do it like that please consider both author and admin to can see the names :hmm:
I suspect the fact names aren't attached to it does make a difference, and I can see providing the option both ways (names/no names, maybe names for author only as an option) could be good.
i think something similar to this: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1890
it would be perfect!!! :)
it would be perfect!!! :)
there is a big difference between "when its ready" and something like "its ready but has a lot of bugs so we wont give it to you unless we fix them and we are not sure when that will be"
I'm sure the "when it's ready?" defines itself enough with only 3 words. :pHardly corrected. I just said the same thing only more forcefully :PI stand corrected. :p
No need for a eyesore blog. :p
i hope you can understand the difference
also to realize that you havent answered to your pal,, i am not your pal,, i dont know you..who are you?
