But who'd want to destroy their life on duplicating common CSS rules when you can use this new syntax with extend and all the neat stuff? I still want to live more than thirty years,  thanks.

It'd be nice, er no, awesome if CSS4 implemented at least some of those features.

And those buttons... eeeewwwwwww! Something tells me Ante was at work. And their top margin needs increased. Actually, he original square SMF buttons would look so much better too.

I know someone who used to write everything in beige. He's on a very dark theme, so it didn't bother him.. However, the site had multiple themes, and such text was near impossible to read on a white background.

That kind of logic sounds like everything that takes up CPU is bloatware and as one software programmer once said "if you're that paranoid about resources, stow the computer away and go outside and play in the sandbox.." Really :^^;:

Not really. Portals add their blocks  using their own template layers. In this case, just replace adding a layer with a sub template and the job is largely done.

I would be so bold to say at least a year for a dedicated full time team whose members are very knowledgeable of developing in PHP, MySQL, whatever database systems they wanna support, some flavor of HTML, Javascript, CSS, the goodies. And know it proficiently enough to keep the bug screen up,, maintain a fence on various attacks and vulnerabilities, and have a good vision.

Not everyone fits that. Certainly I don't.
