Now your getting somewhere with the petals. Part of me wants the text colors to be the opposite like in the default, however I almost think that's just because of the hover effect. I love the scale and sizing.

I like the default better, not sure why though.

Insight or pondering... anything is better then words :/

Edited to add: I like "Thoughts." The name makes one pause and think before they post... wonder what Facebook/Twitter would be like if its own wording made on think for a split second.

I liked the forward movement of the old logo (more pronounced shadow and italics) however I am more drawn to the new slightly more subtle shadow and stronger font. Good work Nao.

Plugins / Re: Using permissions in plugins
« on October 26th, 2011, 12:43 AM »
I like the idea of plugins having there own permissions page. The only time that might be a drag is if one adds a new group or something down the line. How ever that is rare, Maybe a link on the (core) permissions page to the (each) plugins permissions page to make it slightly easier.

Plugins / Re: Plugin servers / getting plugins to a system

*Upload from Computer* Could be a Jquary type pop in and be a separate page as a fall back when JavaScript is disabled or not working correctly. Just a thought. Either way though I think it can be its own page.

I am not voting, unless YES remove it and make it a plug-in. If its a plugin and there is demand it will be maintained, if its in core it has to be maintained, but you have one problem which extension do you use, the "new" preferred one or the old one?

At the end of the day I say move it to plug-ins, people that need spell check will download it, no more work really then having to enable it to begin with.

I love the idea of things being plug-ins. I remove PM's from most sites I admin (abuse issues) so being able to disable it is key (permissions work.)

That said, if more "things" become plug-ins but are there by default you basically have Core plug-ins and plug-ins. Most systems that go so modular end up calling them modules.

You're asking me why it would be so bad to have an open repo - tell me then, why would it be so good if people could pull from a repo instead of having to download the source? Having a milestone release means waypoints for support, for version control etc.

People using SVN versions, except under limited cases, invariably makes the problem so much worse from any real practical perspective, at least in my experience.
Once you have a stable release people should use that branch, all other modifications (besides maybe minor bug fixes) should go into there own branches only to be merged at final release.

Sure people can post patches/fixes/whatever to your tracker and some will, however for even the slightly dedicated it would be better to have them post to branches that you can review and merge back if you accept the fix. I know in Git or Monotone its very simple to grant different levels of permissions ect and to merge back and forth.

Why would it be so bad if people could pull from a repo instead of having to download the source :/ Repo or not the point is the same. I know its a sore subject however I am not one of "them" so I wasn't trying to open any wounds.

Another plus if after 1.x ships, it is in an open[1] repo it might garner other maintainers interest. While that could happen while its still in core as a plug in it might be a good testing/proofing groun for future developers of the project.[2]

Anyway that is my +1 to the idea, I think its a great short term and long term exercise for plug-ins and the project as a whole. Hell it could lead[3] a more module system as a whole down the road.
 1. Open as in people can ask for access maybe even make branches to be merged back and all that fun stuff
 2. Who Join you
 3. loooong term
