Our little Charles M. Deberdt was born on July 10 :)
And as expected, I'm putting Wedge aside until I have more time for it. I'm still working on privacy and contact lists (and oddly, redoing some of the sendmail code), but you shouldn't expect any commits for another few days, because I'm... Committed to someone else! ;)

Is it sad that I was looking forward to using a computer again? I've used a phone to access email etc but it's really not the same. How have things been here?

Should be fixed. (At least it is for me, locally.)
I'd have hoped for a better looking fix, though...
But I need to rethink these menu icons.

I'm getting 0.2s page load times at best, which is 20 times more than on more capable hosting... ;)
Although Wedge is definitely faster than SMF, it's still on the same order of magnitude, so...
I made some tests with Pandos's personal server, they were good, but there were some technical issues that killed a bit of the momentum (like his using Cherokee which isn't exactly what Wedge was built for, as well as some session problems), so for now I'm staying here, but I'll definitely keep that server in mind, in case this one really, really gets too annoying. (Plus, I need to think of a really fast server on which to host wedge.org, because most people tend to judge a book by its cover, and in Wedge's case, the cover is the official website.)

Possibly a problem with how the file system is handled on your server. Sometimes, a web server has no direct access to the hard drive, it goes through an extra layer, and there's a short delay between the moment you write data, and the moment you can retrieve it.
In Wedge, loadSource will first get a /core/app/ source file, then strip its comments, save it to /gz/ (cache folder), and load that version. If the filesystem doesn't see the file as avaiable even though it was written, this could generate your error. Although, I think it should first generate an error saying the files wasn't found..? Maybe I'm not doing that.
PS: sorry guys, I'm not posting a lot these days. Please keep in mind that I'm working hard on many features of Wedge at the same time, and I just don't feel like discussing them because I don't know what will make it to the final cut.

And fixed. :)

Next July, I'll be readying myself to transmit all of my geeky knowledge. Word by word, letter by letter. Okay, at first, it'll have to be diaper by diaper. I guess I can't have everything at once!
What does it mean for Wedge?
Well, being a dad doesn't imply I'll stop working on it, of course. It's not like my life has always been centered around Wedge, although I simply like to make people think it is. I usually spend a couple of hours a day working on it, and the rest of my days is just me watching TV, browsing Wikipedia or the iMDb and thinking, "I should really get started on Wedge!", and then doing so an hour before I'm supposed to go to bed.
So, yeah, I'll keep working on it. I just wanted to make sure, back in January, that Wedge was out of beta before the due date, simply because I was afraid I would lose interest after. Well, I won't. And I don't know if it'll be 'gold' by then. I'm already late for an official beta -- in fact, I was planning to go through official alphas first, but then I realized I couldn't be bothered to make GitHub 'releases' for these, and I decided that Wedge was, right now, in its 'official alpha phase', rather than 'pre-alpha'. Wedge is currently being used in production by quite a few forums, without much trouble, and I suppose it's just the perfectionist talking whenever I say it's not ready for mass consumption. In my mind, it never will be, but I'm still aware that Wedge, even with its many remaining bugs, is currently largely ahead of SMF, and (but your opinion here may vary) still superior to the pretty fine ElkArte. (If you haven't heard about it, just Google it.)
Anyway, please bear with me while I'm trying to deal with everything that's happening around me, and hopefully it'll all make for a better world in the end. Yayz!

Yup, all good for me... And everyone else I guess. No comments = no complaints. ;)

Okay
.. Will go for this, then!

Thanks!
Well, nothing special happened on my 39th... Got offered a sandwich, though!
Most people whom I care about forgot about it, oh well, bygones. I'll just make sure to forget them as well when their birthday comes. :niark:
I'm not much into birthday celebrations, though!
