They have never honored my robots.txt.  I was sometimes getting 40 to 50 of them at a time. The damn little roaches were everywhere at once.  I don't have access to iptables, so I just banned them in .htaccess about 6 months or so ago.

I have always used SSH and command line dump and import. I have used Big Dump a couple of times for others that did not have SSH access and their db was too large for phpmyadmin to import, but I prefer the command line way myself.

No, I do not run Demonoid. I have been around there since the Mayflower came over to the New World though.   :eheh:
I had to change accounts once way back when it got too corrupted for them to repair, so it says that I have been there since 2007, but was actually early 2005.

yea, I didn't research it, but I suspect it may have been the arcade mod that I installed before httpBL. I have followed the same procedure each time I upgraded to the next RC version. I always installed SP, the arcade, and then the anti spam mods. All other mods afterward were in no particular order ever.

I can confirm that and Stop Spammer is working as well.  It may have been something in my forum, but I did have to make one manual edit to get httpBL to install. It was one line in /Sources/managepermissions.php  The installer could not find
Code: [Select]
'view_stats' => array(false, 'general', 'view_basic_info'),
, but upon looking at the file, it was there.

I have to say a little too. I know I usually stay silent on the potentially controversial matters.  :eheh:
I see the same thing with the innocent users of SMF.  The userbase will remain strong no matter how great Wedge becomes, and unfortunately, the biggest majority of those forum owners have no concept of what happens behind the scenes, and most really wouldn't care if they did. They simply want their forums to work, and in the case of snoopy's mods(all mods actually), they want help in keeping the spammers out.  I look forward to seeing Wedge in operation myself, but I doubt I will ever completely leave SMF either. I have no ambition to be on the team, but I do want to help out on the support boards when I can, simply for the sake that there were those that helped me as a newbie, so I want to return the favor.  I see so many support questions that sit and get ignored, so I try to put myself in the their shoes and wonder how that makes them feel. Of course, there are a lot of them that I simply can't help on, so I do not post either.

In your case Arantor, I can fully understand and appreciate your stance. I don't know all the details, but don't need to. I saw enough to know that I would be pissed as well if it were me.

Hello all. I have been around here for a couple of months, but was just lurking. Some of you know of me, very few do actually know me.  :lol:
I have been following the politics and events at SM for quite some time, but pretty much just watch and wait without saying much.  I do like what I have read about here, so keep it up up.
This looks to be a very promising and solid product upon completion.
