Tommy Saxondale FTW - not too keen on much of Steve Coogan's recent works, but there were bits of Saxondale that made me laugh out loud.

Ha!

Try living with an American in the UK (now naturalised I should point out)... She's infected me with Americanisms, and complains at me when I use them!

I blame the feral fire trucks...

The PT Sans Italic from #380 is my favourite so far (other than the "w" drop shadow seeming to hit the "e"... that sets my IBS off  ;))

Lots of interesting technical talk going on here, so I thought I'd chip in with an "end user perspective".

I just want shit to work, and that's all.

If/when we move to Wedge, I don't want to have to remember what order I installed things on the off-chance I end up with an upgrade to a mod that I installed 4 years ago (it's happened twice now...). I don't want to have the endless file-edit hell that is/was PHPBB (when we ran that) because plug-in mods was one of the main reasons we started using SMF.

Now, if "you" can manage to keep mods working across version updates, I'll love you forever; having to (re)install mods every time the host app changes isn't fun (can anyone say "SMP minecraft server"?)

Both NetBeans and Zend Studio are based on Eclipse, and therefore Java. Personally, I put up with the Java and use Zend Studio (and have for many, many years...), other IDEs tend to confuse me :)

The Pub / Wedge.org FAQ board

@Nao/Arantor, how did you make the FAQ board here? I'd like to do something similar (effectively, a blog post followed by comments) on my SMF - assuming not too much hacking is required; I'd like to be able to parallel to wedge when able :)

Picking up on what texas has said, a better example (to my mind) is the Module Admin in FreePBX.

Hard to find direct screenshots, and I'm not running PIAF at home any more to take some of my own, but you're presented with a list of modules that your PBX can run (if you so choose), updated modules are clearly indicated (with bulk installation of all updated modules being a two-click operation), and pre-requisites are dealt with by auto de-selecting modules that rely on modules that aren't currently installed during module installation.

If you have a VMWare/VirtualBox VM mechanism available to you, it's worth a look.

Update: No screenshots, but plenty of YouTube videos - Upgrading and adding modules to FreePBX on PIKA WARP appliance for Asterisk and skip to 01:00.

Note to self: tech support brings donations. Actual coding brings blank stares and general confusion
Well, if you had a Donate button here somewhere, things would be different (I'd have sent y'all a little something for a start).

Hej! And bon journee a tous while I'm at it (apologies for the lack of accents les Francophons). Nice to have a name to go with an idea at last (and I'd never complain about a project name, Wedge is as good as anything else in my book).
