Would have surprised me had it not worked.

Um... my birthday was Monday
Miguel Samiez was born on October 1st, just like you.
Miguel was my first 'business partner', in that I actively sought working with him (just like I did with you!) when I first heard a couple of tracks he wrote for Kyodai Mahjongg as an 'apology' for stealing a few Final Fantasy audio CDs back when we barely knew each other through a mutual friend.
That is, Miguel was instrumental in making Kyodai Mahjongg successful (although he'd probably deny it because it was successful before he joined me), and we went on collaborating for many years until he moved to Switzerland. (Where he became 'Aeryal' and released plenty of CDs that are even better than his KMJ tracks -- http://www.aeryal.net)
So, it looks like there's a cosmic thingy that makes me generally like Libra people (seriously, I have yet to know a Libra I don't like, and I don't believe in this astrology crap which can't even tell whether I'm Pisces or Aries!), and makes me work successfully with Libras from October 1st!
Then, it would seem that the stars have their word to say about Wedge, and these are good words :)

I'd like for the private alpha to be as short as possible, it's just there to ensure that the deployment process is working OK, so that we don't get too many support requests right now. I'm also considering asking TE not to release his converters to the public until Wedge hits final, so that people aren't too 'tempted' to convert their SMF forums to use Wedge before it's set as 'fully working'.

Features: Upcoming / Q&A enhancement: multiple answers and multiple languages

After we had some... interesting... comments regarding the Q&A at Noisen, I figured I'd solve it once and for all.
So here's what I'm currently working on, making the anti-spam Q&A support multiple languages and support multiple answers. The UI's the first part I'm tackling and so far this is where I'm up to. It's not quite as pretty as it could be, but it certainly seems to be coming together.

...there is. Right within the gallery.
Means the help icon in SMF isn't good enough.

OK, so I was contemplating how an arcade plugin might work, and in particular adding new games to one - as plugins themselves that depend on the main arcade.
And here's the weird thing, it occurs to me that we could do something truly neat.
As you know, the plugin manager works by the plugin-info.xml files, and the different XML indicates various things - there are XML tags for adding new bbcode, for adding scheduled tasks, and so on. What if a plugin could declare its own extra XML handlers?
So like the arcade plugin, it could declare a <arcade-game> block handler, so that arcade games could be bundled into plugins quickly and easily without having to do complex database changes or anything, just declare new items and let the arcade handler figure out what it wants to do with it.
In reality all we're really talking about is a hook in the enable/disable plugin routines that also passes the manifest SimpleXML object and plugins can register a hooked function for there. I don't think many would use it but it is certainly an interesting idea.

Just occurred to me. We could have a button that says "I'm having a drink" and you press it every time you start a new bottle of beer, and it records roughly how much alcohol you'd had.
Then it attaches a flag to each post written while drunk to say 'I was pissed while writing this' and the alcohol count goes down over time, so as you sober up you can look back and see what you wrote while pissed and others can forgive you if you wrote something stupid while drunk.

* Arantor was a bit drunk while writing this.

* Arantor had tongue firmly in cheek when writing, btw. This is not a serious idea. But it is an idea. Have at it.

I'd like to just say one thing about Bloc closing his site unexpectedly to paying members. That was a low blow Bloc. I paid for a one year subscription last September to have access to ALL paid themes for one year. If you wanted to quit, I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with you closing your site with no warning and not giving people ample time to download the themes they have paid for. You should have set a site up where the themes were available to every paid member until their subscription expires. You don't have to support them. You don't have to make new ones. But you should make them available to people that paid you with their hard earned money. Or refund their subscriptions based upon the amount of time they used their subscription until you pulled the rug out from under them. I feel like you picked my pocket while I wasn't looking.

Yup, I already figured anyone with a Friend or Consultant badge would be given a free pass anyway.
