Off-topic / Re: DEAR GOD NO
« on November 14th, 2011, 11:45 AM »Did you ever see Crime Traveller, btw? Though it was one of the BBC's mini-series deals that never went anywhere (mostly, IMO, because of Chloe friggin' Annett), the premise was interesting and even now I still think it was brilliantly written.
QI is always worth watching for comedy, with Stephen Fry and Alan Davies as regulars, and a whole host of random people as guests for silliness and Alan Davies losing each week.
If drama is more your thing, I'd suggest Spooks (start from the start, though),[1]
1. I've seen all of series 1-3, plus bits of later episodes, mostly haven't gotten round to buying it yet. The show's about the British intelligence service, MI5, looking at protecting the country, and the various things that they do. Technobabble aside, it is pretty good drama.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the drama series Monarch of the Glen in my early teens. Not sure if either of you has seen that one? haha

I can see why you think of it as a scary undertaking, Nao, really.
To be quite honest, I'm still not entirely sold on the idea of dropping the current attachment system in favour of a system completely integrated with the media gallery.
Here's a crazy idea: make Wedge an attachment-less system by default, and let webmasters choose between two plugins: the current attachment system (i.e. SMF's) or the Aeva Media Gallery.
Probably a crazy idea, but wanted to post it regardless. ;)

Shame they won't be making the other parts of the HDM series into a movie, really. Such potential! Though, admittedly I was slightly disappointed to see the religious parallels significantly toned down in the movie adaptation of Northern Lights / The Golden Compass.

Features / Re: Bot logging
« on October 16th, 2011, 11:25 PM »Or we could simply have an option in the admin area, disabled by default, to skip bots from these logs...
Considering that there's no 100% sure way of determining whether an IP is a bot, it'd make sense to leave it up to the admin to decide what they wanna do.

The green doesn't do it for me, sorry.
I really like the petal-ish logos, btw -- especially the first one. At the same time, their shape also makes them not quite 'wedgy', unfortunately.

Thought it was an average episode, really. Bit filler-ish, but okay.

This is indeed the case. See also this interview with Gareth Roberts:Quote from Arantor on September 24th, 2011, 09:30 PM There is still a discrepancy: when he dies, he's 1100 years old, so presumably he's done a lot of solo travel since dropping Amy and Rory off... I can't wait for the result! So yeah, he's aged considerably.Quote Could you tell us a little bit about your episode?
Gareth Roberts: It's 200 years after The God Complex - for the Doctor, anyway. All the stuff you saw at the very beginning of The Impossible Astronaut, with him waving to Amy through all time and space, he's been doing that.

« on September 18th, 2011, 09:41 PM »OK, neither of those changes were supposed to be committed. I have to use 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost to avoid a 1 second lookup on every single page to resolve the domain name in MySQL. Never understood why, just that since using WampServer, that's been the case.
