This is a post to test the animation

Ideally the textbox should just appear behind the text without it fading, but it still looks good.

The problem is that the textarea has a pretty much consistent height, while posts can be of any height...
I actually introduced the animation to allow users to 'follow' the Quick Edit button they just clicked, while the post is being resized.
Unfortunately, on my computer it's quite jerky, and I'm not sure it's for the best.
I'm still working on it...

Well not sure how you'd achieve this, but wrap the text area around the entire post content(Make it fade from behind) and then resize it?

(Eh...?!)

Anyway, in my latest version I've given up on the idea of starting the fadeOut animation before the post text is retrieved -- I don't like relying on client/server efficiency when doing animations. So it's doing a simple slideUp while the textarea is in a slideDown. A kind of animation I already implemented in the past, because, well, it's relatively easy to do... :)

It doesn't look bad, at this point. I just don't know how it'll work in the long run.

Hmm, I'm not convinced either, but I will acknowledge that after an afternoon of psychological warfare and bureaucracy I'm not in the most positive frame of mind.

Since it's committed, feel free to change speeds to get a feeling of how best to handle it...

After all the quick reply is animated too.
