Ok,

I have been away for awhile "been ill". How do I do an update verses a fresh install. I am still running the first release.

Welcome back. :)

Upgrading is easy as 1,2,3.
Simply put all new files in place and the upgrade will start if you enter your forum.
# dpkg-reconfigure brain
error: brain is not installed or configured
