I ended up buying a Honda CBR250R.

It's a nice starter bike until I can get my full licence (In Australia they have a graduated motorcycle licencing system).

Can't go wrong with a Honda. I have an ST1300 and love it :)

I'd like to get a Honda CBR1000R Fireblade, I feel it would have enough power for me.

A 'blade has plenty and then some. If they gave postmen 'blades it would make email redundant :D

Yeah, nice 'looking' but how do they ride? ;)

Seriously though I'm not a brand fanboy. There are some really nice bikes behind all the badges but I do like the quality and reliability you get with Honda.

That is a nice looking bike you have there too. Stay safe and enjoy!

TBH it's fantastic, probably my only gripe about it is that the sound is tinny and too quiet... I can zip in, put it in the garage and my missus can't hear me most times (which also means other motorists can't hear you).

As for the reliability, I have only recently got it (2012 with 3600kms on the clock).

I am a brand snob when it comes to bikes... I don't want to die, so I want the best I can have.
