I'm interested in knowing what your usernames mean and where they come from!! :D
Let's start from mine. "Multiforme Ingegno" is the italian translation of πολυτρόπως (polytropos), the first epithet Homer gives Odysseus in the Odyssey (in english it's something like "ingenious" or more precisely "ingenious in many ways"). :)

The nickname of my previous German teacher is 'DJ' (no idea what it stood for) and I made it a bit longer. That's how I got the 'deejay' part. I have no idea why I put 'Dr.' before it, though. :P

well, mine is pretty straight forward (and it predates white wolf, for those of you who would match that reference)

My first nickname was Iki, back in 1989 ahah... A mispelled Saint Seiya character. (Should have been Ikki.)
Then in 1996 when I first went online, I quickly settled on a character from Tôkyô Daigaku Monogatari (a very interesting manga), a real jerk whose first name was Naoki (直樹, 'healing tree'). He wasn't so much a jerk as simply a normal person whose darker sides was explored without complacency.
Then in 2005, after a breakup, I shortened the name to Nao and changed the kanji to read 尚 ('furthermore'), because it looks like a one-eyed face in desperate need of more hair, and basically I'm always saying 'furthermore' in French... ('Et puis...')

So, basically -- my nickname is a funny pun. Well, I find it funny.

Actually, thinking back, my original name was "Omicron" - I ran a BBS for years called "Omega BBS" focused on the neo-paganism etc in my area.

I was always very curious to know how Nao came about with that username. I thought it was french. lol while we're at it, Nao may I ask you how is it that you speak English and French so fluently?
If you're a gamer you'd know that the origin of my username is from the video game Hitman: Codename 47.  More than the game itself, it was the main character's persona that really caught my attention. Someone with a dark past, who trusts no one and will do anything to get the job done.
However initially every time I tried signing up someplace I tried going with "Batman" or "Dark Knight" but I'd always be prompted by a message that said: "That username has already been taken" so I gave up and stuck with this.

As a kid my grandmother always called me Spoogy (honestly don;t know why) as the years passed my friends dropped the y and added the s calling me Spoogs and many variations of, but I liked Spoogs best so I stuck with it.

Another name I've used online for quite some time is/was Bandilero, intentionally spelled wrong. It's the title of my favourite song growing up and as I'm Jamaican our dialect Patios we spell the words exactly as they sound when we say them no matter how close the English equivalent is.

Mine is short for my name, the x1 just makes it easier when signing up as normally Angie on its own is always taken.

I have a photo of me on a boat.
The photo is taken of the stern, with no-one else in sight apart from me sat on the deck, despite there being 11 others on board.
The caption reads "Billy No Mates"

I think I was just playing around with the keyboard once when I was bored and happened to type out Norodo. I liked it so much that I started using it instead of my old nick, kjgkhgk. I think it's fair to say it's an upgrade.

Mine comes from a acronym and inspired by code. Near END of the code, you know end, end if... I am basically a code drifter, I drift to language to language, whatever is suitable. Haven't been active in PHP lately, was coding allot in Java for a few projects in Android and now I got, well lets say it is a project. Maybe not the best productive one, but game addictions are game addictions. You may see me active again one day, lol.

I had a few others though, most of them as a noob and, even at YABB, but I will take those usernames to the grave. :P

Hope I'm not too late...

I happen to like birds, very much. Before that I'm much of an elephant fan... I was drawing a few mythical beasts during the time I was into drawing. I drew so many monsters, needed new inspiration... When I first saw a phoenix, I became fascinated with their appearances and drew some. I liked Digimon and used usernames based on characters/attack names referenced in that show, I remembered "Imperialdramon" and decided to take on the name Imperial Phoenix. Later on shortened it to Phoenix. One day, I picked out Auk on the day I was looking up for nice short bird names for linux username, since phoenix as a linux username is a bit long-ish to type when you're doing fancy terminal commands (The kind that forces you to not use the ~ shortcut).

Nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear.

Err... Because I don't?
My French is pretty much impeccable, as it's my mother tongue. I'm very nit-picky when it comes to French grammar. People hate me for that.
My English, though, was mostly learned from scratch when I started going online in the mid-90's. I was already not too bad at English, but reading web pages in English all day long really help improve it.
Now, I can't really say my English is fluent. I guess I could pass off as English for some people catching a glimpse of my posts, but that's all.
And you haven't heard my horrible, horrible accent ;)

Your English is better than that of a number of people I know, who are native speakers. And your English is easily better than my French, which is almost non-existent.
