Yes, it can help identify an individual, but it's not that rock solid, and that there are quite a few ways to compromise it, so that it should be considered a reasonable piece of information, not a concrete 'this definitely identifies a unique user', because it doesn't. The result is that I'm downplaying the use of IP addresses for account-level items. |
