Firefox and IE image overlap
« on May 24th, 2014, 04:17 AM »
Hey guys,

I usually use Google Chrome, so this hasn't been a problem .. but just today I checked my forum using Firefox and later IE, and what I found was that the image overlaps. Check it out for yourself using your Firefox or IE browser: http://longevityforum.com/blog/

How can this be fixed?

Thanks,

Robert

Try to resize the picture.

Code: [Select]

But thats just a workaround, normally it should be resized automatically, or at least, it shouldn't overlap.

Thanks, but in the long term, this needs to be fixed. So, hopefully this bug report can help in the development process.

(Sorry, haven't been reading all topics these days.)

The proper fix for this is to add a 'table-layout: fixed' rule to the containing table.
However, fixed layouts also have their gotchas... But most likely, it'll be useful here.

What I'm not sure about, is whether I should go for divs in blog layouts, or just stay with tables, and use that rule.

Opinions..?

PS: your site content is... odd. :^^;:

Odd? Yeah, most definitely. The inner circle board will be made private to only few members who understand the oddity. The rest (weight training, genetic engineering, nutrition, technology, etc.) will be made available to the masses.

And... Fixed.

What you're making available to the masses is precisely what's odd. It looks like a collection of spam articles on a fake blog to gather link juice to sell performance-enhancing drugs... At least that's what I would think if I hadn't looked twice.

That's an interesting observation, and I appreciate the input. I only just recently created the website, so any feedback is appreciated.

Do you understand the idea behind it, though? I want to create something akin to http://www.longecity.org/forum/

I certainly don't want it to look like a spam site, but I did want to add the pharmacology discussion board for the purpose of discussing how to optimize performance for sports and mental tasks (steroids are not what I meant). What do you recommend? Perhaps I should remove that "performance-enhancing drugs" section, and just keep the fitness, martial arts, sports, brain health, and technology boards?

Concerning the "collection of spam articles," I'm not sure what you're talking about. Can you be more specific?

Again, I appreciate any input from anyone on this forum, as this site has been roughly outlined in a day, and not changed since. My forum: http://longevityforum.com/
