Hi.
I'm not sure exactly where to post this but here goes:

What I'd like to suggest is, when somebody attaches a photo to a post, that it automatically adds to a gallery album (maybe one selected in admin as 'attached' to the board).

Maybe this has already been thought of?
It's already here and running in Wedge. I can't remember using attachment in any of my posts here. I only attach my photos from media. To make achieve this, admin will have to disable the attachment function of the forum so files can only be attached for media.
eg. This post's image - http://wedge.org/pub/off/8109/just-hanging-out/ was automatically inserted form a created media file (while I was creating the post) - wedge.org/do/media/?sa=item;in=177

Afaik pretty URLs behave the same as in noisen.
You can also have sub domains but because it requires server tweaks, it's not enabled by default. Ie you have to change the URL in the database but it works. Noiaen is the same really.

Nao.noisen.com = sub domain
Noisen.com/nao = directory ;)
Afaik pretty URLs? Never heard of it. Is it a plugin in Wedge???

SSorry to bump on this old topic,

is there any way of making wedge inherit the 'strength' of noisen? It must not mean now, maybe later
Eg the link structure: May not be totally subdomain

wedge.org/boardname is ok  ( wedge has this :) )
wedge.org/topicnumber/topic name ( like noisen but not with subdomain)
wedge.org/nao  ( users profile)

Not American but happy celebration. Not celebrating anything this year, not after losing Dad just 5 days ago.

I always like relative time though I agree it can be confusing. The best I've seen so far is that of Facebook. Something like
5 Seconds ago
Yesterday @ 9 PM
Nov. 8 @ 9 PM

Why are you English always rude with your language? I speak 5 different local dialects. Not so bad Ingrish and can Introduce myself in French. I'm always happy to hear none natives speak my language. You guys should let Feline be.

PHP3, not phpBB3.
I misunderstood, thanks. PHP3? Like seriously? This should be like one decade behind.

Forum needs recurring  to active and unique visitors to be lively, when a forum stop getting unique visitors, it will stop growing, age and die.
Check out heavy forums and see, be sure that Google is right behind it's success.

My CMS is written in PHP3 and has some really ugly url patterns. So for me there's a lot to do to get back the love of Google
I was reading somewhere that PHPBB3 is the best seo forum software, I installed it in my live server sometimes last year and found the funny seo pattern too. I installed the 'famous' seo and found something funny, it doesn't redirect the old url structure to the new structure, if you create a topic, you will have two structures in each thread, like
website.com/index.php?f=2t&t=3
website.com/thread=3.html
The last Google updates is a complete mistake.

I, for one, don't give much on a site's Google ranking. I don't even use Google. When I am looking for information, meta and title tags are less interesting than a site's content.
My first time of hearing somebody not using Google, care to share your online research tool?

SEO is a lie, SEO is dead ... blah blah blah. That's trash I have being hearing from some hypocrites for many years now, true Google is clearly telling webmasters to build websites that will focus on the real human visitors and not bots but the truth remains, Google respects search engine traffic more than any other sources (eg. Social media,direct...), disagree? Checkout Google Adsense.
There is this friend of mine who have a website that attracts more than 5million hits per month and yet was banned by Google because he was told that he doesn't have quality traffic, his websites have tons of content and uncountable comments but ranks poorly in search engine due to the CMS he built his website with.
The reason why I called SEO dead campaigners hypocrites is because most of them goes a very long way to ensure SEO even to the point of paying the so called SEO companies.
The reason why Google was advocating 'building website for real humans' and not bots is because people will always visit your website because of content and some newbies who know almost nothing in SEO would have little or no content and yet expects Search engine bots to refer every search keywords to their websites.
I agree with @Nao though I disagree with SEO IS DEAD EPISODE. As a webmaster, here is how I always plan my new website
1. Pick Domain Name - Simple and Niche related
2.Pick a CMS (or whatever) which MUST be both search engine friendly and user friendly (mobile compatibility is a must!)
3.Focus on content and feedback from the users.
4.Update and Optimize.

Build a website process is just like poultry - Chicken and Egg which comes first situation.
The truth is you must get the chicken (buying, stealing or what ever) which in turns will lay eggs. I may not have money to buy chicken but if I got it somewhere else, must I be judged?

Off-topic / Re: This is why I complain about tracking hits

Tracking reliable ips and relative ones may not be that easy, twitter introduces new bots every now and then with each bot having it's unique ip. Just thinking if it worths all the stress.

I agree with @Nao, forum members online are worth tracking, outside of that is not useful to me. In my current forum, I removed online list from the board index and allow tracking of members in the individual posts. Tracking of bots and guests is just a waste of server resources. If I want to analyse my traffic, I will use the best tool online - Google Analytics.

Not a problem but it can be confusing sometimes expecially if the poster have a long user name. Consider if my username is Android Operating System. The topic will look like ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM - ON MOBILE THEME. I bet it will sound confusing.
