I thought the amazon Ec2 is their cloud hosting service? I recently registered for the hosting and they gave me one year free hosting. I am planning on moving my old smf database with over 6000 members to it. I know I can install the centos 5, apache... But I think working free cpanel will be good for me, easy file editing via file manager, adding domain names.
Thanks for your insights, once again I am selfish for making such demand. Youtube is best for now and should be okay for everyone. Others can patiently wait. Anything that is a better version of smf is something else. I have used smf for sometime now and can testify what it can really do. Keep on the good work and let us know when you are thirsty, may a 'bottle of bear' can do great.
Please consider adding sports (Soccer) websites like Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona. My country is a soccer mad country and members are always looking beyond youtube for interviews, match highlights etc.
Ok, the public release I mean is for it to be on BETA TEST, opened to public, maybe not general public but probably not with your friends alone . The testers will track bugs and give details. And webmasters will be advised not to use it on development websites. Personally, before I use any software, I will try to get used to the general coding in-case of emergency.
(Heck, we still haven't even settled on a public license and determined whether it'll be free software or
commercial, things like that...).
Opening it to Non General Public
Make the software available to the members of this community only and maybe write a simple html for and tell the interested testers to fill the form before they can download the software ...
Should not be allowed, maybe for now until it is in full beta release. May you call it beta 3 Alpha release.
I can't find a way of installing a free cpanel in Amazon cloud hosting called ec2 or whatever. In vps, it's easy – just run a command in custom ssh but in amazon, no way! Anybody here tried the installation?
