what can you do with an IP address if you *can't* ban anyway?
Let's say one sees suspicious activity  from a user. They have the IP with which to look up and determine iff that address is used for malicious wrongdoings. They then can report the activity to a higher-up, who may be offline at the time.

"OOP is the end-all and be-all to code. You don't use it? Screw you! You blaspheme against the coding gods! You desecrate the sacredness of OOP!"
"But why is it better?"
"Uhh... just f***ing use it!!!"

 :niark:

It''s like dealing with the Apple fanboys.

Disclaimer: This does not apply to those who prefer OOP because they find tit more local and easier to use.

What I'm worried about is more people writing off Wedge (and other of the free platforms) because it doesn't match up to some theoretical ideal of how code should look. Enough people write off the free platforms as being 'toys' and not 'real' software as it is.
I see no way to fix this. Different people will have their own ideas of pretty code, and one platform just isn't going to satisfy them all. Just as in real life: some prefer raw carrots, others like them baked;  still, others like them steamed, some don't want any, and prefer corn instead.

In my mind, it doesn't matter. Objects or no, just ensure that it's readable and logical. And unified - one style in the entire project.

Plugins / Re: Another one

I think so, haven't touched it in over three months. Only additional feature for it that I can think of is changing the message icon once a note has been added, or better yet, append it to the end of the topicsubject.

It doesn't account for whitespace before the bracket.

Nao,

Have you thought of trying WIN8?
And how would that affect his NIC?

Features / Re: Improving how smileys are managed
« on November 26th, 2012, 08:14 AM »
I seem to recall a poll at sm.org asking which smiley sets they use there. The overwhelming majority left the default, then Aaron, then Akyhne, in that order. I think it was in 2010.

Seems to me the whole underlying code can be ditched and just store the smileys as a serialized array in the settings table, much like hooks.
