It's @Nao, by the way (Oh, and yes, tagging members is one of the many awesome features on Wedge) ;)
Oops... Sorry @Nao . Visions of Matrix-like code took over from my spelling hindbrain :(

Putting my sock in your drawers could be misconstrued...

Duck in a funk! That was the biggest pair of bits I've seen in a while...

Oh, I'm going to have to get me one of the MS things, just for the comedy value :)

I've got a few issues, but don't want to put them in the 'bug' category, as they are so apparent that they would have been listed already - where do we go for help/advice?

After following (off and on) this project since 2011, I finally downloaded the alpha and chucked it on a VPS.

Thankyou Neo!

And thankyou to all the others that have helped with this mammoth effort over its three-year inception.

After an initial stumble (more my unfamiliarity with Webmin than anything to do with the installer) I had it up and running.

And, apart from a few minor niggles, I managed to log in, create a few sub-boards and post a message or two.

How fucking awesome is that?!!! :)

I can see a lot of my time being unproductively spent over the next few weeks delving into it - no doubt I can put it to very good use.

Again, thanks.

I checked for days - couldn't see it.

That's fine... I'm pretty done with this for now.

3/ Idly retired ;) I have lots of time to indulge myself.
Lots of time, so little feedback -- removing alpha tester badge.
No access to alpha code (as per my post) means nothing to test... nothing to test results in revocation of tester status... you see where the problem started?

Well I can see the zip file, but any attempt to d/l it gets met with a "Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery" message :(

And I cleared out my SMF test site special (and wore a fez - but nothing else except the boxers!)

3/ Idly retired ;) I have lots of time to indulge myself.
4/ Admin backend - security especially.

This year will be a public version?
I am truly amazed at how many people seem unable to grasp the very simple concept of 'it will be done when it's done'.
I am truly amazed by the amount of work you coders have done - respect!

Having worked on application project teams (not as a coder - not since OS370 Assembler) I am in awe of the work you have put in.

I, for one, can wait for 'when it's done'. The alternative is to pay you to do it and I don't got the cash ;)

Plugins / Re: Plugins I refuse to do
« on November 5th, 2011, 05:08 PM »
You MUST HAVE an MS plugin. You can make it do some innocuous task and lie about how long it is going to take but mke it look busy with an interminable spinning egg-timer, while chewing through CPU cycles.

And you can fill it with bugs - not ones that do anything, but mis-spell words and have a cool feature that has all the names of your favourite swimsuit models appear if you press a certain key-combination.... oh wait, that's Adobe, right?

It's not all great - it's slow, warm, easy-going, but it is a nightmare technologically, and trying to get anything DONE is near impossible... after a year I am gradually learning to chill TF out :)

I don't intend this to be a serious effort, but pissing around for 20mins produced this...

I live on the steamy jungle-covered paradise that is Borneo - everything here is slow :)

We have to sort out the bottleneck: that is, two gibbons with coconut shells and a 5km piece of string... they were doing all right till I started hosting a joke site, now they spend all their time falling out of the trees, so I have to reboot them back up to their post.

Off-topic / Another Introduction
« on November 5th, 2011, 07:13 AM »
Hi,

Long-term stalker, newly registered.

I'm also not a coder, despite being employed as an assembler geek in the past :) More of a hacker than anything else (in the strictest, Unix-like meaning - I don't go around trashing other people's work!)

But - I am good with systems stuff, well... I can break things. And then have to fix them... I don't know if that counts.

I don't have a tagline... maybe I should get one? All the cool kids have them!
