Yep. You were given the badge back through a team vote, and K@ just started at Docs recently.

You'd be right on both accounts. It's his profile, and the 7 days are up...

Well, I'm not positive as we haven't actually included any new projects yet, but I would think that including a new existing project would also mean accepting it's current team as is, for example like the NPO took over SMF originally. It can't very well work to accept a project, and then ditch it's team...
Unless, we'd be starting a fork of some existing project with a new team, for example like Wedge is doing.

New active project members under the NPO are accepted in to the NPO as members by default, but it is not actually a requirement.

If I remember correctly, one can be a project member without being an NPO member, and vice versa - so although currently all active project members are also NPO members, you can stay out of the NPO if you wish and still work on an SM project.

This is because the procedure to add members to a project differs from the one to add members to the NPO, and they have to be done separately in any case. Project members are added by team vote, or as part of a new Project's existing team by an NPO vote(not sure of this at the moment), and the new project members are then added as NPO members by a BoD decision after they have actually joined a project.

I believe one can just say upon joining a team, that they wish not to join the NPO, and the BoD will then simply not add them as members.

I can actually second what Pete is saying, I currently work in a company with similar security needs, and similar setups (for example the password complexity requirements are even a wee bit higher than in Pete's example) and all I've seen it cause is the post-it's under keyboards, lost passwords, ID10T errors, and so on... Would the basic password requirements be made "reasonable" instead of "high security", the actual security benefit would be greatly higher in my opinion. Easier logins means less post-it cheats etc...

Actually I only noticed the new revs topic a few days ago, and found it to be an interesting read - haven't read it completely yet though. Got me wondering why more projects don't do something similar really. It gives out an impression of continuing activity and let's you guys show off your ideas and the way you work together.

Oh, my last post was mostly directed at Snape actually, to answer the question of what was "tweaked"...

As Arantor might now, posts like that are usually written on the team boards, and then moved to a public board - such was the case here, and AFAIK Kindred did the moving. Most probably the title needed to be edited, out of WIP, and thus the edit by Kindred to the rules...

Did not read all of the above, forgive me - but it is my understanding that the CLA covers only contributions made knowingly and on purpose for the benefit of the project, and as such does not cover discussions and other OT material that were not meant for the project to use.

But, even so - I'd say anyone who has contributed to the community discussions, perhaps in thousands of support posts, knowingly doing that to help the users, would be / is an ass if they demand those posts removed later... Doing so does nothing but hurt the users.

Arantor, all I said was it wasn't edited "just for fun" - but I also seconded Runic over at SM, and agree that the way it was handled was poor...

Low blow. Especially since you clearly don't know the whole story. The move back to closed source is simply so that SMF doesn't start ripping off our code after the way things went down. Once our code is sufficiently far away from SMF to be useful, I suspect we'll reopen it again later.
To be honest - That doesn't sound good any way you put it. It seems like you used SMF as the base of your work, and SMF did not try to stop you - but still you wish not to give back to it out of spite... Sorry.

Hey Lex, remember his post in the dev blog where he stated, or rather implied, that the overall public attitude he was hearing constantly demotivated him? I'll guess that's  the reason.
Your guess is as good as mine, but that's what I'm thinking too.

Also the official SMF kitty is now unofficial from the team page.
This I know as well, and it came as a surprise to most of the team, but K@ can explain it himself if he wants to. I'll not go in to that in here...

Can't really say what happened - as I don't really understand myself either,
but there is no big drama behind it that I know of, he just wanted to leave SMF behind for now...

Yeah, it's the OpenID bug, but as I just pointed out... that ain't new, nor even a surprise - it's been broken since at least RC3 (with the same reason)
This. The OpenID bug is known since RC3... IMHO a "communication problem" within the team, seems nothing has changed since I left for good reasons.
Actually, I believe it is again a "new" bug, a regression - It had been fixed in the past already...
