That's because it's a disorganised clusterfuck right now.

With an overhaul of structure, from the ground up, that should cease to be a problem.

The vast majority of WP's updates are security related rather than actual new features; other than the header bar that debuted in 3.1, I can't remember what was new since 2.7 or so (other than the theme, which is dull both in the main blog and the admin panel underwhelms me immensely anyway)

I'm just peeved that someone is telling me that we should implement feature x when we have feature y, because they do something tangentially related and that without looking at feature x, you're telling me that feature y is automatically better.

I finish those 11 issues, we ship 2.0, then I'm untied from the project since I then no longer have any other responsibilities on it other than what I do in my 'spare time', whatever that is...

You know that you pass everything in by reference, right?

Check $topicOptions['id'] on return -- even in SMF. It HAS to know the topic id in any case, if it's a reply, you provide it, even in a new topic, you have to have it to tie the new message to the new topic.

So, not sure what you're asking for that it doesn't already do...

Per item rather than per user makes much more sense, and really I don't see why it shouldn't be per area (per board, per album or whatever)

YouTube lets you disable it per video, so I'd suggest that it can be tweaked on that basis, optional on/off, as well as the options above. I can even envisage the case, admittedly rarely, of 'dislike only' in some cases (like a spamming board) so there's no reason why we couldn't just build it to cope with that.

Well, that was in before 1.4 but it's worth testing jQuery instead of $. I don't know why it's broken, I see nothing immediately wrong with it otherwise.

jQuery doesn't have to impose itself on $, because other scripts can use that too, so jQuery has a no-conflict mode wherein it uses jQuery instead of $.

That tends to suggest it's configured to be in no-conflict mode.

* Arantor gives up trying to point out that the other solution is really not that good in actual practice.

:edit: I should remember that this is being written for what we want, and not being written for anyone else, first and foremost.

I, personally, really get fed up with people trying to tell me how I should build things in my own personal spare time.

:edit: :edit: Read http://innovatenotimitate.com/?p=201 and it refers to someone on this very forum a few weeks ago.

What Nao describes is MUCH faster.

With that mod, if you want to reply to 3 points of a big post, you have to copy/paste the different parts. With this, you hit the quote button once, then just press Enter (nice and natural!) where you want to reply, to break a big quote into two parts.

I did notice, yes. I'm away at parents in law this week (until Sunday) and making full use of the new keyboard I got for my iPad, whereupon I'll sync the code, and add in some of the smaller things I've been thinking about. Then I'll finish the remaining 11 issues for SimpleDesk, and finally get my ass properly back into gear here.

Oh, I have a huge to-do list, it is probably similarly sized to yours by now, only I'm referring to the Wedge subset of mine :P

Basically, I have a massive virtual list of what I want to achieve in Wedge, some more obvious than others, but eventually it'll all be done.

There are no public lists of easter eggs in SMF, however there are lists of them that I have access to which pretty much nail everything.

Timezones... I do really want to fix that, the whole offset thing is rather limited and confusing, especially when there's no reason it can't be fixed once and for all (including DST)
