Off-topic / Re: Doctor Who

So did I, actually. Part of the problem is that her character isn't exactly that taxing to play, i.e. the servant girl with a few moments of having any sense of leadership.
No, I wasn't thrilled either, but it didn't put me off, predominantly because she's playing the part she's given. It's not a part where someone can shine.
Also, Full HD Doctor Who Series 7 Trailer :)

Features / Re: Badges and the displaying thereof
« on March 27th, 2012, 10:33 PM »
Sure we are. Nothing's been written on this so figuring out how it should best be approached, well now's the right time :)Quote I've certainly suggested the idea, but never anything too concrete on it thus far.Quote Hmm. This is where it gets complex because I can think of cases where I'd want to have both the badge and the post count stars displayed together.Quote It needs to be rewritten because it's not a simple ADX any more. Remember there are visibility/access settings, so there's effectively two sets of ADX applicable to each group and each board.Quote That is already possible from the board's own configuration, but from the group point of view it might be quite nice.Quote SMF's visibility lark is concerned with whether the group is primarily visible in the group key or not, and whether it's hidden in some other places. It's not that useful really.
I think you've written elsewhere that the membergroups could be split into those that control permissions and those that control display (i.e. a badge or stars). For the board I admin we would have both types and one group would be both.
I see that Neo doesn't like the idea however we would have stars for the post-based groups plus badges from one or more groups of which they are members. We'd also like the choice of showing the group name or just the image(s). This is regardless of whether it is their primary group or not.
Visible Boards: for us it would be better to have access and deny here, maybe like the A / D / X elsewhere.
When the member joins that group he gets permission to view and enter forum 2, and it would be nice, in a tidy way, if he were no longer able to see forum 1.
As above I don't understand the Visibility setting.

What isn't so obvious is how clean the process is; you don't spend any time on hunting down code to find/replace.
But one other thing: this is the *single best way* to find holes in the plugin system, and where it needs expansion.

So far the worst part of Wedge for me is having to fend off all the people who keep asking when it's going to be ready without looking around and seeing that it isn't yet ready, like the number of items in Bug Reports...

I knew it was being discussed but this is the first time I've ever seen it mentioned.

Integrating Websockets is not a bad idea (provided that it's implemented sanely and harmonises the multiple drafts in play), not quite so sure about Google SPDY, but it's not inherently bad IMO.
Thoughts?

Dragooon, I completely understand your position; this is pretty much the same stance I take - if I build it well enough it should stand alone without needing much support later on :)

Well, my account states it as -1, which is relative to server time, not to GMT. The server is set to French time, which is GMT(or BST) + 1.
In your case, you will need either -5 or -6 rather than -4 or -5, just the same as any other hosting and any other setup where the server's timezone is different to yours, and different to UTC.
