Microsoft Surface RT
« on February 27th, 2014, 11:11 PM »
So I got one of these devices on sale and I really love it but there is a growing trend that is starting to annoy me...

Censorship... Swears are "autocorrected" to stupid alternatives (I mean who uses "tucking"), and there is no way to add to the dictionary.

I know I can disable autocorrect, but due to the keyboard it is pretty much required.

Ah, Microsoft... If it didn't exist, we'd have to invent them..... ;)

I almost want to say "duck" and "tucking" in my speech because it will make it easier to type.

Weird, I have one and have not noticed this.  What input method are you using?  I use the cover/type keyboard most of the time.

Both the touch keyboard and on screen.

All I want are swears :(

So far "Duck" and "Tucking" are clear winners.

"Daddy I'm going to bed."

"OK darling, do you want me to tuck you in?"

"Get away you sick pervert I'm calling Child Line!"

Putting my sock in your drawers could be misconstrued...

Duck in a funk! That was the biggest pair of bits I've seen in a while...

Oh, I'm going to have to get me one of the MS things, just for the comedy value :)

It's frustrating, and Microsoft's support page for things like that is even more frustrating. It's annoying as Australian's use swears as part of the language almost (I think we need an English-AU language which allows swears).

But other than that the devices are nice.
