Never saw Birds of Prey. Smallville sucks big time. Ain't seen Green Arrow or Aquaman or whatever.
What I'm talking about is the DCAU... Bruce Timm's thing. Now there's someone (along with Paul Dini etc) who did a lot for Batman and co. More than Chris Nolan, if you want my opinion, but I'm thankful for Nolan too!

Well... Every time I caught an episode, it felt horribly campy. Perhaps even worse than the Batman show of the 60's...
It just doesn't seem to fit AT ALL with any of the Superman origin stories I'm familiar with.

They should have made him go to Metropolis early on. Then I'd have watched the show. Lex Luthor in Smallville? That's just plain silly...

yup... smallville sucked.
Arrow is likely to suck as well...

I kinda liked Bird of Prey (the live action one), but it never got much of a chance...

The point of the show was set in his teen years, how he got his power before becoming Man of Steel sequel to Superman 1978.

how he GOT his power?   He is a frakin alien baby... not some spider-bit teen!  He's always had his power(s).

Sorry - Smallville was crap... it had poor plots and tried to tie in all of the classic stuff form grown superman/metropolis into the teen years of smallville.

Cameos by Aquaman, black Canary, Green Arrow, (hmm, wonder woman?) and several other DC- JLA heroes....

In terms of the movie-verse between Marvel and DC, Marvel is way ahead but that's only because besides Nolan's Batman triology everything else has been rubbish. I had a fair amount of expectation for Green Lantern but that totally went down the drain. But as far as the animated cartoons go, Nao is right - hands down DC that's doing a far greater job. They put a lot of detail into their cartoons (story-wise) unlike Marvel's which I find slightly tacky. If you compare the shows Marvel's Avengers: The Earth's Mightiest Heroes and DC's Young Justice you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Seriously though Man of Steel better not suck because all my hope is on that one reason being Nolan is a producer and Zack Snyder himself is a pretty wicked director.

Smallville was not all that bad if you followed the show properly like I did. Granted it was inconsistent but it definitely had potential.
