Technically you can already do that, and there are several ways to do it in fact (mods, add-ons, other hacks..), but none of them are properly documented I'm afraid.

Heck, I myself simply edit the HTML in my templates... Because I suck :P

I'm sorry, this is the kind of thing that is really better done as tech support work. This isn't something I can do for free. (But the good news is, anyone with minimal knowledge can do it, so you don't have to pay me specifically for do it. Not that I'd complain, eh... I made $5 profit over 7 years of work on Wedge...)

Have you considered setting up a Patreon page or something for the people who'd like to pitch in, Nao?

I'll never ask anyone for money. It wouldn't bring me much anyway. Forums are much less successful these days than ten years ago. I was just too late on the market, and didn't benefit from word of mouth for all the time the source code was under wrap. My fault, mostly. But I'm still proud of it.

I consider Wedge a failed public project. But it's still successful to me as a résumé entry, I suppose. And I'll always be supporting it. I haven't committed anything in a while but it'll happen as well. I'm just busy rebuilding my life these days, not too focused on my web work.

You can always contact me at Lestrades.com if you have a Steam account. That's the only place I visit daily these days, or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/noisen of course. (I don't go there daily, but I do get notifications.)

Thanks to everyone who reported the couple spammers from these last two weeks, BTW. Spam is rare on Wedge because it can't be automated, but it doesn't mean it's safe from real people who are adamant on posting on 'dead' forums (or so they think. Plus, links on Wedge.org are automatically marked with nofollow, meaning they're worthless when it comes to SEO.)

Well Nao ..
I make also a clone of SMF 2.1 with many new and enhanced function and also with a Portal.
And .. as you say .. the time of "normal" foren is out .. I realize that.

But it's a great feeling to see the log faces of the SMF peoples if he make a compare SMF2.1 with PortaMx-Forum

For some reason, I still moderate the documentation board, so I pop in and delete those when I get a report there.

It's not a failed project. I'm sure you had some fun and learnt a lot while making it. Hope you'll do well with rebuilding your life!

Yeah it's going well, thanks. Fell in love in the meantime, having lots of sweet moments. And my kid is doing great. Breakups are hard though when a child is involved. But I'm confident it'll all work out.

Yup, it's hard when a kid is involved. It helps when both sides want to do good by the kid, I just hope you're in this kind of a scenario at least.
