Off-topic / D&D in Canada
« on May 9th, 2013, 11:52 PM »
It doesn't have much to do with garlic sausage but with a 33 guy to 1 gal ratio it can be a sausage fest.  :niark:

Delete the thread if this is too spammy but I'm looking for a DM or 2 in the Vancouver Canada area.  D&D 3.5 in a semi-complete world.  We have 5 DMs already so you can roll a PC or 2 as well if you want to be a player as well but some of our sessions are bursting at the seams so we need a couple more DMs.  Our near term goal is to have 1 session in our world running every night per week, possibly 2 parallel sessions on Tuesdays.

To keep it a little less spammy I won't post links so message me for deets.  I know it's a long shot.  What are the odds any of you guys live in the region but I thought I'd give it a try.  I still lurk now and then to see how wedge is doing.

YAY!

The only board that I have that is really active is very calendar based and an attendee list would be awesome.

Do you use it as a paper weight or a hammer?  :)

Sounds like Nao has me beat by a few months.  I'll be 36 soon.

I used a 1200 baud modem and a 2400 to BBS a little but I didn't have my own so if you weren't fast enough getting to the one computer that had it in computer class you were SOL.  Thus I didn't BBS very much.

I love the last paragraph after reading here and there about Nao and his time spent making everything compatible:
Quote
AptiQuant does, however, single IE out as not only the newly anointed Browser for Dummies™, but also as an expensive drag on web developers. "Any IT company involved in web development will acknowledge the fact that millions of man hours are wasted each year to make otherwise perfectly functional websites work in Internet Explorer," they noted when announcing their results. ®

Not dinosaurs, just something very long lived and wise.  Like Methuselah.  :)

I heard of a study, I think it was done by the military, on how to use symbols that the brain automagically recognizes for what they are meant to be without ever being taught.  I thought it was pretty cool.

But I like icons.

If you don't want the money can I have it?  :)

My wife gave me a hard time when I started approaching 30 tabs.  :)

Now I only average a dozen or so.

If there is no way to hold someone accountable I can foresee it being abused and for some reason taken far too personally.  Unfortunately the general interwebz are not always populated with the same level of maturity we see here.

Yeah we had a disaster with the karma thing until we put in that mod where people had to own up to changing karma and now that it's out dated we just don't use it anymore.  Feelings got hurt, people got pouty, serioulsy, a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings got their panties in a twist over forum karma.

Weird.  But they are a lof of fun to drink with.  :)

Take care of yourself.  As much as everyone is excited about the projects that you are working on, like Wedge and SD, your life and mental health are far more important.

Haha, nice.  My Granny never made biscuits but that would have been fun.  I did spend a lot of time outside playing though.

I think a lot of us are really interested to see all of your hard work pay off, just some of us are dicks about it and some of us aren't.  :)
