Off-topic / Re: What type of programmer are you?

Duct tape definitely. I copy paste tutorial code and modify it to suit my needs. My most complex code is a SVG graph (Raphaël). I have no idea how it works, but it works for me. I'm also getting pretty decent at modifying other code (ie: mods for SMF) to make it work or to suit my needs. The toughest loop I can honestly say I understand is the for loop.
So yeah, duct tape.

I'd like to see you try Vanilla. Not because I'm a fan, but because I could never fully understand how it's supposed to work or be intuitive. Maybe you can think of a use case for it, but I surely can't.

I have a couple of forums running MyBB. It's a functional system really. It's easy to modify without changing underlying code. I prefer it to SMF because there are less strange things like UTF breaking database backups and less code editing needed for plugins in general. Search works wonders in the adminCP too. All in all I like it, but it's hardly great.
Oh and yes, of course, I am using homemade themes.

It's very cool, but I suspect it's not too user friendly. "Logout" under "plus"?

The Pub / Re: Looking for volunteers to test the Wedge private alpha!
« on May 18th, 2013, 10:01 AM »Could always have a multiple choice test the potential testers have to answer and flag some answers as an automatic "no". Think of it as a filtering system. There's nothing wrong with a thread and a posting guideline, but if you're really thinking of locking the topic then that certainly shows it does bother you having to monitor and reply constantly. Would make life easier for you for a while. At least until an even better method comes up.
I'm interested though - if you want to test Wedge, and I mean really test it - give a copy to someone with a big board. (hilarity might also ensue)

I'm still around although I haven't been able to really contribute anything constructive in a while. I'm finally done with exams, so you can probably expect my "tutorial" on SSI.php soonish. I do feel somewhat guilty of inactivity I suppose, but I just haven't had anything to contribute lately.

I am unable to reproduce this one both with french and english setup options. The only thing I can think of is that you may be lacking the english language files?

Apple doing what Google has been trying to do for some while. Introduce search to the desktop.
It's a bold move an I applaud it. Whether or not it works out is another thing.

My webpages are somewhat geek-focused. Developers and gamers of nerdy games. Neither site has many users from the third world. My biggest focus in developing has been FF3.6 and IE8. Fortunately FF3.6 is on its last legs now.
