Personally not a fan of the sliders. You have to take that opinion with a grain of salt though as I kind of have an anti-apple thing going on over here. I prefer the radios myself. I think the example you showed is nice looking and very simple to understand what's going on.

Having some way to link the item to a forum post for discussion of the news topic would be kind of cool. Not sure if that turns it into something more that it needs to be. Just an idea.

Love love love the idea of Future Dated Posts. In reference to a blog it's really almost a mandatory feature I think. Being able to setup a series of posts ahead of time and them firing off automatically is awesome.
Back dated posts sounds a little sketchy, but if there was some UI element identifying it as such then I see some limited uses for it.

I always thought the news fader was pretty useless the way it was implemented in SMF. In most cases that was the first thing I disabled on new installations. Adding permissions will make it a lot more useful.

I'm really digging the idea of Soft Bans. I've never really been a fan of banning real people, but there has to be some consequence to deter unacceptable behavior. This seems like a good compromise between Hard Bans of real users and just letting them do whatever the hell they want. :eheh:

1. I've been an SMF user for 5+ years. Really not sure how long. Seems like forever.
2. I'll be testing on a live url. I'm planning several class based community gaming sites for the future so some friends I've chosen as moderators will help with testing.
3. If I had to put a number on it we could probably get in 3-5 solid hours a day between my friends and I.
4. For me personally I'm most interested in theming and integration with other components. My friends are probably. more interested in the administration/moderation features.
