Anyone interested in gaming and charity should take a look :)
http://www.humblebundle.com/Five incredible, best-selling games. Humble Indie Bundle V features five modern masterpieces and their soundtracks. Experience the fear and paranoia of Amnesia: The Dark Descent; the intensity and impact of LIMBO; the zany characters of Psychonauts; the future-retro, audiovisual concoction of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP; and, for customers who pay more than the average price, the exquisitely crafted action-RPG, Bastion.
Pay what you want. If you bought all these games and soundtracks separately, it would cost around $110. But we are letting you set the price!
The games work great on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
You can support charity. Choose how your purchase is divided: between the developers, the Child's Play Charity, or the Electronic Frontier Foundation. And if you like this deal, a tip to Humble Bundle would be much appreciated!

Pretty nice offer... I already have Psychonauts (but the PS2 DVD, and I actually never played it...) and am a supporter of Tim Schafer (and Ron Gilbert!), wanted to have a look at Bastion (because of the dungeon RPG style) and Superbrothers because of its excellent retro soundtrack. And the good news is, I get to download their soundtracks legally :)
Plus, I could pay by PayPal. I know Pete was into Humble Bundles, but they won me over as well this time!
-
Bastion is an excellent game, Psychonauts slightly less so, but easily well worth putting some cash into the mix - especially considering you get all the games for Win/Mac/Linux and you get all the soundtracks (and both Bastion and Psychonauts have great soundtracks, I haven't yet dived into the others)
-
Superbrothers is the best ost I've heard since NieR and Shatter. Not as good though. I'd say as good as Etrian Odyssey 3 in the same style.
-
Haven't listened to it yet, to be honest most of my recent playing has been between Blur (driving game, though the studio appears to have been closed by Activision), Torchlight and a little known game called Slydris.
-
Try the osts I mentioned while you're at it ;) they're easy to find, pm me if you can't!
-
Buying the bundle gets you all the OSTs ;)
-
Not the ones I mentioned...
-
Ah, yes, I see. Tiredness is wonderful for making read good.
-
And you didn't spend your afternoon cutting wood and drilling into concrete walls. (what a day...)
-
No, I spent this afternoon doing the weekly shopping before this country goes mad because of the Jubilee weekend... fighting with the maddening crowds in the supermarket is almost as tiring.
-
We have that kind of crap in France too, queen jubilee or not. It's called Saturday :P
-
Oh, this was *worse*. It's a long weekend with the Jubilee, which means it's largely panic-stations with people getting enough food in.
-
Yeah I can imagine the pandemonium. Half of Britain seems to have gone abroad for the weekend and their places taken by an influx of tourists. I'm some 8,000 miles away and so am missing all that - the bad and the good. Unfortunately none of the TV stations, including the satelite are planning any coverage and all flights to Hong Kong, where they are televising the main events, were fully-booked. Oh well, hopefully my daughter has remembered to set the VCR.
When you think about it, some of the most memorable royal happenings have come at times when the country is at its lowest ebb and for a few short days, such events do raise the national morale. And pageantry is something we do rather well.
-
Also neat, there's still 10 days to run but already almost $3m worth of money has gone in!

I'll vouch for Braid, that's an awesome little gem of a game. Super Meat Boy irritated me quite a bit, though I'm not sure why. Lone Survivor I haven't yet encountered, though I might have to try and find the time soon.
-
Holy cow! braid!
Too bad the game is too hard for me to o beyond level 2! But this is a masterpiece of storytelling... I used o be obsessed with a YouTube video of the final level! Even blogged about it...
-
Yeah, Braid is awesome if mindbendingly hard.
-
A new HB is out...

Not as interesting as the first one, though.
-
It's mostly interesting if you have an Android device. But the current bundle is actually quite poor in some ways.
BIT.TRIP BEAT is pretty fun, though I imagine it will be quite hard to play on a touchscreen device (works quite well with a mouse), Uplink is an interesting concept but surprisingly dull to play, SpaceChem is sufficiently complex that I don't want to learn how to play even modestly complex levels, let alone the really hard ones.
The others... no idea.
-
Reminds me, I should really get started on Super Meat Boy or Sword & Sorcery... Maybe I'll like them, if I can find some cheat codes or trainers first :P
Unfortunately, not the right time with my stupid idea of trying to release a private alpha of Wedge for this weekend... :^^;:
