Title: Filezilla hell...maybe not.
Post by: Dismal Shadow on October 13th, 2010, 01:40 AM
Ok, I remember Arantor mentioning to set everything to binary which also handles attachments and avatars, no?

I am on Mac so I don't have to worry about file editing because I use TextWrangler.

The option of danger is "Treat files without extension as ASCII file"

If that is ticked, attachments and avatars will be damaged, likely permanently.

That reminds me actually... http://tracker.wedge.org/?sa=ticket;ticket=75

I knew it. Phew, I guess I can go ahead and download everything in binary with no options ticked.

Thank you. :)

Yeah, if in doubt, run with binary. It may be slower, but you guarantee it is byte-for-byte what your files are.
