Title: No 'reply' button in 'thoughts' (all) page
Post by: agent47 on January 8th, 2013, 06:23 PM
The on hover thought 'reply' button doesn't appear in the http://wedge.org/do/thoughts/ page. I don't know if that's intentional or if you guys are unaware of it?

None.
Just laziness ;)

Haha well in that case this topic should be a good reminder to get it done in the near future.

I don't know, I only wrote this page to be able to browse thoughts by date. And there's also the profile page where you can filter them by author.
Fact is, the JS for thoughts is a bit complicated and I fear it would add to the JS filesize, which I don't really want.

Plus, I don't want to encourage digging out old thoughts for reply. Although I reckon that we post way more thoughts per day than what the homepage can hold...

How much of an issue is this with minimenus?

That's easy enough, disallow replies beyond 48 hours of the one it is replying to. Truly long running conversations can run long if someone keeps replying but most of them simply won't.

Yup, it can happen. But 48 hours for a reply window should be enough, 24 would likely be enough but I'm feeling uncharacteristically generous.

That reminds me, need permissions control for thoughts.
