Title: Available importers (was: I'm in love all over again)
Post by: pivotraze on March 22nd, 2012, 05:43 AM
I will definitely instantly switch my site to Wedge from PHPBB asap. Is there a converter from other forums or no? Just wondering :) I used SMF for a long time but got worried about the development of it. When I learned of Wedge... well, let's just say love was in the air XD

The following modules are being developed in the converted:

- SMF 1.1 to Wedge
- SMF 2.0 to Wedge
- phpBB 3 to Wedge
- Burning Board 3.1 to Wedge
- vBulletin 4 to Wedge
- MyBB 1.6 to Wedge
- WordPress 3 (!!) to Wedge

Except for the SMF 2.0 importer which I personally stress-tested (and unfortunately discovered some minor bugs after we went live with the Wedge makeover :P), they're all relatively untested.

Considering that there are many import scripts for SMF 2.0, anyone can simply attempt to update their AverageShmuck forum to an SMF 2.0 forum to a Wedge 0.1 forum. :)

The stats for today's new topics is still at zerro. Should split topics count?

There are two schools of thought about that ;)
I tend to be in yours.

Well, SMF and wedge can perfectly handle blogs ;)
Look at my signature for good examples! All made with my custom SMF.

Sweet :) I'm definitely going to see how this is? I'm going to make a demo site for that! :)

The MyBB 1.6 to Wedge works fine.

I noticed a few bugs which I reported, I would suggest at least giving it a whirl on a test site to see how it goes.

I think so, I haven't tested since I reported them.

I think @TE fixed them as they were reported.

I can always run up a test conversion if you like, I have my old MyBB exports.
