Was discussing the benefits of using YT embed earlier on another forum and a wacky idea hit me.
Would it be viable/useful/beneficial/interesting to have something that did the equivalent of auto-embed but based on Wikipedia links? So that, for example, if you insert a Wikipedia link, it fetches the - say - first paragraph or so and parses that into a quote with link back to Wikipedia?
Definitely plugin material, of course.

Hmm I don't know. I personally wouldn't use that.

It was just a crazy idea, and I figured it might encourage a bit less going off-site.
-
I'm not saying it wouldnt work ;)

I like the idea actually.

Sounds like a cool plugin to me.

I like it, I think it'd be kinda useful, though I'm not sure I would use it much personally.

Well, here's the thing. It would work like Aeva does. You just post the link and it *auto embeds* the material for you ;)
-
Which is exactly how it "should" work!
I like the concept a lot, I'm just unsure how often I would use it since I don't tend to reference wikipedia for things (or anything else for that matter), but I can definitely see how it could be useful.

Ah, just checking in case the point was missed. I'm a big fan of automating stuff like this...
In other news, ergh, maybe I shouldn't have had that second beer :/
