Title: Battlefield 3
Post by: Dragooon on October 27th, 2011, 10:38 AM
It came out 2 days ago and it's a fantastic game, anyone interested in FPS should give it one shot. The SP kinda sucks but the MP is absolutely brilliant, plus the graphics are awesome and it isn't that demanding.

I still don't really get the attraction for FPS's.

Oh they are just awesome. That, RTS and racing are the only type of games I can bear.

I also like turn based strategy like total war series and city builders

RPGs eat enough of my free time.
Skyrim comes out in two weeks. Expect no commits for a while :P

Well, at least you don't have to skim through thousands of typefaces trying to figure out whether your 'instincts' will click at something...

No but I do get to sift through lines and lines of code at times trying to figure out if I've found a bug or it's because I'm not using it correctly. Today, for example, I found a case where I'd created an empty template layer (with a _before template defined), the layer was called and shown but I couldn't seem to add anything to the layer with wetem::load after it, but if I declared it as a layer that wasn't an empty array, it worked as expected.

(Basically that's me just being lazy and using that for area navigation and declaring it once in the header function before going off to whichever specific area. For a similar amount of effort, really, I just declared the navigation block as a block in default, then added everything after that to default with add instructions. Effort's the same really, it's just very slightly semantically different.)

Did I mention I'm playing with createList?

Because it does, the campaign is meh. Although I don't know about co-op since I haven't tried it but it only has 6 missions so it can't be that long.

Am I the only one that kept dying over and over when it came to defending the walkway?

Also, if anybody has it for PS3 and wants to play then send me a message.

I take it you pre-ordered Skyrim? I'm taking a wait and see. I'm sure it'll be a good game, but I'd prefer to wait until they've released their 10 inevitable DLCs and fans have had a decent amount of time to fix the game with mods... I've never been able to stand a unmodded Bethesda game... :P

Well, some of my greatest moments in computer gaming were following through the Assassins Guild storyline in Oblivion[1] and playing the Shivering Isles add-on (this one was just so funny and original), so yeah I'm really looking forward to playing Skyrim...

Never bothered to play a DLC from Bethesda.
 1. It was very ballsy for its time!

It was only announced this year.
Ever heard of Oblivion and Morrowind? It's the followup.

Not really interested into RPGs for PCs, so I don't think I'll get Skyrim.

In other news, I've been playing Voxatron from the current http://www.humblebundle.com/ package (I bought it when it first came out, so I didn't have to do anything special to get the Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter, though I already had that one anyway)

I wait for Skyrim myself. Love the videos of it. I will play it on my 360 in my home cinema. Can't wait to hear the first dragon!
