Off-topic / Re: New coding music :D
« on October 23rd, 2011, 11:55 PM »
I tend to have many different styles of music when I'm playing around on the computer. This guy helps inspire me quite a bit:
Harry Potter Meets Metal
And Mike Relm is always good for a rush:
MIKE RELM - THE DOCTOR WHO REMIX

Features / Re: Bookmarks
« on August 24th, 2011, 05:41 AM »I think it's something we're interested in doing like that, and as suggested, we might make it bigger - not just a list of topics you're interested in, but also a list of topics you're *not* interested in, since the actual logic is virtually identical.
I can see this feature being used quite a bit on my forums.

Off-topic / Re: IE users are dumb
« on August 23rd, 2011, 01:04 PM »This made me laugh. As we all know, there is a special place in hell for Internet Explorer and those who created it. ;)

Development blog / Re: A nice kick in the CSS
« on August 22nd, 2011, 11:20 PM »Ah, I had a new blog post in the making, and then I dropped it... I was adressing the other SMF forks, and then kinda lost my inspiration when it came to discuss vblamer's project while trying not to be insulting... :P

The Pub / [Archive] Re: Logo Madness

What about having the word Wedge balanced on top of the wedge?
So far my favorite is the one currently at the top of the forums. Is there a reason, other than ascetics, for the "w" not being capitalized? I'm kind of silly that way, proper nouns that are in small caps kind of make my ass twitch.
Makes me wish I had experience with graphic design and the assorted programs for making art and logos. :)
Edit: I have changed my mind and have a new favorite. The one with PT Sans Italic looks amazing. I really like the font.

Features / Re: View Topic Permissions
« on July 18th, 2011, 06:11 AM »While I understand that there might not be a vast amount of admins that need such permissions the few that do are usually left in the cold. I've had to do some rather creative mod handling to achieve the desired effect in SMF. I can happily say however that SD2.0 has helped me mitigate much of that creativity.
In the short term though I am very curious on which mods you used in 2.0 to achieve the desired effect.
My situation is I manage a couple of gaming sites[1] and we have an application process for new members in each game. Currently I use the Custom Forms mod[2] to create a post from the prospect in a restricted forum. Then staff can go over the application to determine if they are a good fit for the guild. This set-up works but it would be much easier if the applicant could see their post and respond to questions or see the status of their app.
