Features / [Poll] Re: Board status icons: what's the point?
« on March 29th, 2014, 09:07 PM »
If I could code I'd place the date like a blog does, if this can be done ( on day/month ) with out a big hazel. We have too many " new" red  icons, that I can't stand for board post and like everyone has mentioned, the real handy tools is the unread and recent links!

Not to mention  you can see who posted last on the board index. Or just place a text "!" in there. and for child boards maybe a small green dot like would work?

What would it take, to put a text counter on the recent or unread link side... sorry Bro but I get carried away!
But if you simply remove it, I will not complain. But what to do with the DB ( that cell )?

Hope I'm too far off base!

regards,
Maxx

I know and sorry , but just thought I'd bring it up, while it was on my mind :(
But those are not really needed as mentioned above...transparency would be better!

TBH... the icons on the menu look a bit old fashion to me. the one for media could just give the count to right side, all other icons should remain. on the boards except like you say the new or just a number or a green dot.

I voted. in the poll!

If you are using hostgator? I would suggest the you start like I said before, a sub domain from your Cpanel example:
wed.yourdomain.com, them after that set up your database or write down the DB log-in stuff and then upload you wedge files to that folder.. they you will need to search for the new sub domain then put the files in the yourdomain.com/wed/ folder.

they are using another way of doing things and it's not same. so you will need to wait for the sub domain to come up in your browser first. the new sub domain will have it's own root directory files installed you will see them in the FTP view.

Please note that I have a site on bluehost, and hostgator is off of bluehost and and should be the same.

if you only create a dead directory, the wedge will not find your PHP.ini or other files needed!

This the way I have to do it on the bluehost. hope I'm not wrong but sounds like this may me you issue.

I hope I got your question right, But what I do is start the thought with ie: "@Nao" then the thought> after that there will be a drop down to the left side for action>You may also direct your thought to a given user group on the right side the time of the thought process.

Hope this it!

Code: [Select]
div{width:400px;height:200px;

    /*gradient background color */
    background: #0071a0; /* Old browsers */
    background: -moz-linear-gradient(left,  #0071a0 1%, #ff0000 100%); /* FF3.6+ */
    background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, right top, color-stop(1%,#0071a0), color-stop(100%,#ff0000)); /* Chrome,Safari4+ */
    background: -webkit-linear-gradient(left,  #0071a0 1%,#00a3ca 100%); /* Chrome10+,Safari5.1+ */
    background: -o-linear-gradient(left,  #0071a0 1%,#ff0000 100%); /* Opera 11.10+ */
    background: -ms-linear-gradient(left,  #0071a0 1%,#ff0000 100%); /* IE10+ */
    background: linear-gradient(to right,  #0071a0 1%,#ff0000 100%); /* W3C */
    filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#0071a0', endColorstr='#ff0000',GradientType=1 ); /* IE6-9 */
    }

for ie6-9
Code: [Select]
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#0071a0', endColorstr='#ff0000',GradientType=1 ); /* IE6-9 */

Still renewing my main PC so forgive my tardiness!

Can you post the list of files that are in the directory you are installing to, if you only created and empty directory it may not work,
Not the wedge files just the root files like: "cgi/" root file folders!
if the dir, is empty, it may not find your PHP and Mysql stuff .

What I do is start a sub domain, then all files will be included. to ru programs! Kinda like the root directory!

Well MS says they are shutting down support for WIN XP and some are using it and the older browsers, But for me in a way if they don't want to keep up with the changes, they will suffer in the long run when it comes down the here and now of web browsing, and now in the US you can get Laptop Cheap with Windows already installed...I saw A New Dell 15.6" laptop Intel 300gb hd w/ HDMI for 279. bucks and the OS Win pro Cost that much nearly.... Sure it had WIN 8 and no one except me likes change, but I'm getting use to Win 8,1 and not that bad  boots up fast shuts down fast and operates like a charm, You only need to get rid od all fat that comes with it. I don't feel for those who do not keep up to date, Devs can not be thinking in the past so much, time to move on >> And with the Now / future there are so many things to consider, without being up the past lol!

People need to learn to fit in this world, the world will not fit the individual ever!

JMHO,, and BTW soon we'll all be back to hard knocks once again! the imaginary money is running out of popularity!

Sorry all mine got updated to IE !!!

You know, I have IE and keep it up to date, but I do not and never ever did like it, and every time I use it to test and themes, I have to go through a scan my machines for Bugs, and it always finds some, Trojan, or malware, adware or some crap, not mention, I think it runs too slow, compared to the the Chrome and FF.
I use FF to work with themes, manly because, I'm use to it and the firebug and other nice add on's.
Chrome for surfacing and testing.
I real wish, I could just keep the IE off my main system and just use it on the secondary machine and Laptop. I seriously think it suck big baby chunks,
But so many still insist on using it, then they come to me to fix their PC or laptop, when the crap it the fans and locks up their machine.. and all that other window mess stuff you can have that to.
Some people have so much crap on their machines it takes, Four F Forever's just to get to full start up. They should name the IE to poop per scooper. lol!
