Features / Re: AJAX Likes

Guess I need to AJAXify thought likes now too? :angel:

:^^;: Means extra bytes on the front page... since I'd need to put them inside a container, they currently aren't in one the way they were for the post likes. And the code will be different in terms of finding the ID, but that's no biggie.

I don't like the latest versions of phpMyAdmin either because I think they've pretty much bloated the UI. I wouldn't mind so much if the popups would atleast fit properly on my browser... But then again it's my fault for using IE. ;)

Archived fixes / Re: Small bug in permissions
Arantor « on November 3rd, 2012, 08:28 PM »
Thanks for the report. I know why it's happening, it's one of the bugs relating to the new ask/say code where the language string contains a " - and JavaScriptEscape doesn't escape those.

I've fixed it locally but it does raise issues for the future.

Development blog / It only took two guys two years...
Nao « on November 1st, 2012, 06:27 PM »
...And 2 months, and 2 days.
Okay, maybe not 2 days, more like 6, but apart from Pete and I, you weren't there to count in the beginning, were you? ;)

Just in case you aren't aware yet, I finally managed to put the finishing touches to a 'usable' version of Wedge, and released it early this morning to early beta testers.

In order to download it, you'll have to request access in the relevant topic, but since this is still a private alpha, we're going to be giving access mostly to those of you who've been following us for some time (and posting along), anyone who seems serious about Wedge and testing it.

Our plans are to release a public alpha before the end of the year (well, just in case the Incas were right). We're going to try and keep Wedge in frozen mode, so we won't be adding any new (major) features, although we do have a few outstanding features (or bug fixes) which we plan to ship before we go public. And who knows, maybe we'll have a good week at some point and will even be able to go gold before the end of the year...? Naah, can't be.

Plugins / Re: Something I started working on
Arantor « on September 18th, 2012, 03:38 AM »
Having now rewritten the behemoth that was quick moderation, I figured I'd dive into the rest of this plugin.

Also, note that there is no actual configuration code required for that configuration page. All that is is a small block in the plugin-info.xml file.

Code: [Select]
<settings-page area="topicsolved" icon="$pluginurl/img/tick.png" bigicon="$pluginurl/img/tick-big.png">
<language file="lang/TopicSolved-Admin" />
<text name="topicsolved_bg1" />
<text name="topicsolved_bg2" />
<text name="topicsolved_fg" />
<boards name="topicsolved_boards" />
</settings-page>

Yes, really. Wedge plugins will be super easy to get going.

Off-topic / Wedge Appreciation Thread
sascape « on September 16th, 2012, 02:07 PM »
I just wanted to say 'Thank you'.

I've read in another thread that you guys thought about giving this project up not long ago because people don't know how to behave.
Sadly the most vocal are flamers while people who just follow you silently and are waiting for a release remain mostly hidden.

The first time I heard about wedge I wanted to upgrade my SMF immediately, but - as I learned - wedge was still in development and still is. Since then I'm watching you guys. At least once a month I visit this website to see if there is some progress.
I understand that you want to publish a version that you're satisfied with so I don't mind waiting.

I just want you to know that there is another sort of follower who appreciate what you are doing. Thank you for your work!

Sincerely

Sarah
